Arya was just looking at the Hound with a blank face for a while there. It's like they didn't know how she should react because they overplayed their friendship in the show. Book Arya would still be upset over Mycah.

Seeing Arya and Brienne together was actually nice though.

On the interwebs they're saying if Brienne only had whipped out Hot Pie's wolf, the whole thing would've went down differently.

I didn't really get the impression though that "they" (the director etc) didn't know how she should react. I thought *she* didn't know how she should react. The Hound was begging for mercy but he was foolishly proclaiming that he didn't deserve mercy, and in the end she didn't give it to him. About Mycah, this Arya's a few years older than book Arya. She's not going to fixate over some silly childhood friend from another lifetime, when so much has transpired since then. Her whole family's dead. Who gives a shit about Mycah.

I thought the Hound was trying to provoke her so that she would actually kill him, considering her hit list. But then again, no matter what the situation is and who's involved, it's ambiguous whether mercy killing or not killing is the "better" option for someone.

Still, given their friendship, it was a bit odd that she just ran off without saying anything, but then that's not being able to read a TV character's mind. Of course it could be left to interpretation as well, for example, how it reflects the fact that she's actually not so attached to the Hound after all and not just because of who he is but because she's always been quite independent in making her own decisions and has changed through all that's happened to her (like with how she could deliberate kill someone).

I could imagine that she might still care about Mycah, mostly in the sense that he is one of those things that reminds her of home, like Needle.

No question. But it was imo a miscalculation on his part. He overloooked how cold-hearted and calculating she's become. So to the extent he made her angry, it did provoke her...into not granting him a merciful death. But I think more likely she's too far removed from "feelings" to be provoked at all. She left him because she had written him off and didn't give a shit one way or the other.

I finally finished "Game of Thrones" season 4 and have no strong feelings one way or the other about it. I didn't love it, but I didn't dislike it. There were still parts of the story and some characters that I found boring enough to skip through, but the opposite was also present (just not enough of it).

Joffrey's death/wedding was completely over-sold to me, nothing about it lived up to the idea that had formed in my mind based on what other people had told me.

I don't know about what happens in the books, or even where the show is in relation, but I would not complain at all if Cersei happened to die next season. Early. First episode is fine.
