To be honest, Juice=Juice's style favors them a lot. Their music is easier to accept and enjoy than some other H!p groups. And Tusnku tends to give them better songs(he admitted it in magazine inteview). To think that J=J's last single was originally C-ute's, and J=J's upcoming single was Berryz's.

^ Pretty much. Berryz isn't exactly performing typical sounding music, and honestly both of these songs had to grow on me A LOT before I came to love these songs, unlike J=J's whose songs I pretty much loved from first instance of hearing. Since not everyone is going to give second chances to listening to new songs, it would be harder for Berryz to sell their singles. Add in a factor that they possibly did not get as good as a promotion, then it'll be harder for "growth" to happen if people aren't hearing it every now and then. I'm pretty sure, skill-wise, Berryz aren't lacking, everyone can sing and dance atleast decently (some better than others ofcourse).

If Berryz continues to sell like this single then they can continue for years to come. I don't think they will ever have their big break, they are simply already around too long for that to happen. But they do sell enough CDs and fill big enough concert halls to keep it going.

If Up Front does wants to give them another boost they do have to find them another solid tie-in. But those things don't last forever and success is not always guaranteed.

For now we haven't seen the girls doing too much work outside of Berryz Kobo (except for Momochi ofcourse). When that starts to happen it could be a sign that Up Front is working towards a graduation of the group. That means that for now they will just soldier on and release this kind of singles, that have good songs but don't really stand out as a complete package (song/pv/promotion).

If Up Front really has balls they should let Berryz go wild. Let Tsunku do some really outlandish songs that might result in a drop in sales but that will give the girls the ability to evolve their idol characters into the next level.

I was just about to make a Melons comparison myself. But I mean I'm not shocked it didn't sell as well. Rock Erotic is unbeatable tbh.
