Yeah, I've been wanting to see that. Planning a movie night with some Scandinavian studies people at school and I suggested it :) ...but if they go with something else I'll end up watching it myself maybe tonight lol.

YES! As you say, it's unavoidable. It's a must watch.

Let me just say that this show is a masterpiece, but you have to be prepared to watch it. It comes with some really dense philosophy of it's own kind and personally it helped me to resolve many of the internal conflicts I had back in that time. So, with a bit of caution, go for it!

Celedam wrote:- Attack on Titan

Despite the fact (which I've experimented several times) that when it comes to anime many people have some kind of rejection to watch trending and very popular shows. This one is really good. The greatest about it - it's based on a very simple idea - giants, titans - and it's really interesting to see how they explore it. It comes up with a lot of intrigue. :thumbs-up:

Celedam wrote:- Welcome to the NHK

Oh, yes! Totally!

Celedam wrote:- Mushi-shi

This one too for sure. It's so original!

Oh, yes! As a personal pick-up, I'd like to suggest you One Piece (not sure if you had watched it).
No matter if it's the comic-book version(which I prefer the most) or the animated one.
It just....
After having spent soooooo much time reading it, watching it and studying it and after having read so many manga-series, it IS simply brilliant.
I can't find words to describe it.
:notworthy:

Anyway, I normally don't spend too much time on watching - I prefer reading, you know :)
So, if you'd want to read some really good stuff, just say it. (LOL, same for everyone else too  )
I just have tons of references , and not only manga, I've been a fan also of the Franco-Belgian school for years!

^ Christoph Waltz + Terry Gilliam = MUST SEE!

James Earl Jones was absolutely hilarious on tonight's episode of The Big Bang Theory. The Sprint commercials with him and Malcolm McDowell also crack me up. XD

The Japanese version of Let It Go is pretty good.

Sure, she doesn't really fit Elsa, but I like her a lot.

I'm re-watching Azumanga Daioh and I'm liking it a lot more than I did when I was a kid and I was wondering if anyone had any Slice of Life anime recommendations?

Azumanga was my first anime/manga. It got me into the whole thing. I love it  .

Here are some slice of life series that you may or may not enjoy:
-Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou aka Daily Lives of High School Boys. Boys being stupid. It's the best thing ever.
-Hidamari Sketch. Girls with wide faces attend an art school.
-Ichigo Mashimaro aka Strawberry Marshmallow. Cute girls doing cute things. Warning for lolis, though, if that's not your thing.
-Kamichu!. It's about a middle school girl who's a god. While it has some supernatural elements, it's pretty slow-paced.
-Kiniro Mosaic. Cultural differences made cute.
-K-On!. It's about girls eating cake and occasionally playing music.
-Lucky☆Star. Girls talking about anime and stuff.
-Minami-ke. Three sisters and their friends get up to wacky hijinks.
-Non Non Biyori. Girls who live in a country town do things.
-Shinryaku! Ika Musume. A moe anthropomorphic squid girl attempts, and repeatedly fails, to enslave humanity.
-Yuru Yuri. Girls do things with other girls.

Most of these probably are probably not really what you're looking for... but give them a try anyway.

DISCLAIMER: I completely and utterly hate K-On! and Lucky☆Star, but most anime fans -- and especially slice of life fans -- love them to death, so there's a chance you'll enjoy them. Maybe.

People also seem to really like Nichijou, but I haven't seen it myself so I can't recommend it.

Yep: Lucky Star is freaking awesome (including the OVA).
Can't speak for K-On! though.

This is also a great show. Although I find it strange that someone who dislikes Lucky Star would enjoy this.
It's 95% the same premise really.

Onee-chan ga Kita is also pretty enjoyable. Each episode is but a few minutes, but quite funny.

I would also recommend these (even though Starra hates two of them ). I enjoyed them, though I haven't completely finished with "Hidamari Sketch" just yet.

I'll recommend this too, since it has plenty of comedy:
- Gokujou Seitokai (All-girl student council hijinks. One has a puppet!)

I would also recommend trying these out, though they're far less comedy focused than something like "Azumanga":
- Nodame Cantabile (Two aspiring classical musicians through and after University.)
- Honey and Clover (Lives and relationships of a group of art school students who live in the same apartment building.)
- Candy Candy (The life of an orphan girl named Candy.)
