im glad we finally got that tv studio performance of ai no gundan.
riho sounds really good here i dont know what y'all are on about. this is far from her worst.

the beginning of what is love is great. hope we get a pv soon LOL. i just dont like part where they have their heads down for a while. i feel like the dance break part shouldv'e been longer and it made the song feel more rushed. but oh well.

i really hate how they make riho lip sing her autotuned lines in one two three updated. ugh. kimi wo matsuno sounds great live.

Girls were rocking it. Watched J-Melo 3 times since the episode was first shown at midnight (here).

Especially liked how Zukki beamed up when they showed a photo of her fan.

"What is Love" is OK for me. There are some parts that seemed awkward, but they've had those types of songs before so either I was just expecting it or they weren't enough to keep me from liking the song.

It was a great performance and they sang all those songs pretty well, and it was live ofc.
And yeah, I think Riho was good in it, while doing her best while dancing

I liked the song. I didn't really mind the Riho solo line. Not one member of the group can consistently sing much better than she does so there's no point complaining about that.

The dance was okay too. It wasn't so far out from what they've been doing. Weird hand gestures and leg positions, weren't so weird to me. Like, what else do you want them to do?

I was glad they got the gig. And that their newer songs got voted higher than the classics. I think that's a very encouraging sign for the girls, especially Sayu, who has complained of being in the OG's shadow too much.

Yeah I love Riho and the line distribution is great so I don't mind her being an Ace which I've said before... but Sakura's singing is at a much higher level (Re: listen to the updated Manpower for proof) than Riho's and yet she doesn't get to be lead in the singles at the level that Riho is. Its not Riho/Sakura as much as its Riho/Sakura Mizuki Masaki Sayumi. But hey Sakura is kohai to Riho's senpai and somehow it seems fitting. Ai-chan didn't become the lead vocal off the bat when she joined. To me Sakura is more of an Aichan type while Riho is more the Maki Goto ace as soon as she entered cool personality type. Which is more like Reina who led in Shabondama... her debut single. (Riho has been pushed since Only You her second single.) Its actually been fun seeing her groomed as the ace of the group. Certainly she has the Aura for it. But she's more the ace because she came into the group with a high level of popularity (from the auditions), is an amazing dancer and works very hard. Her singing was better than the rest of the 9kis when she entered which i think plays a role (Mizuki coming in second I think which is why Mizuki gets lines now... her voice has gotten stronger). But since 10kis and 11kis entered Riho continues to be strong vocally because she has had more practice than the rest of the group, albiet by only 9 months or so. Also she's managed to maintain her popularity (Even if some of western fans want to believe that everyone hates her and her singing) Sakura entered the group with a higher singing skill than Riho did when she entered the group, but shes still the newest member now matter how you slice it so maybe Tsunku is letting her grow for a bit. Thats how I feel about the whole thing anyway.
