Not even Riho got a line!

I guess this was before Riho's grooming as an Ace. That happened during Only You when she was the only Kyukkie to get lines from what I remember.

Things sure have changed since then!

So Manpower will definitely have new singers. Seems like Ai and Gaki split most of the powerful lines so I'm guessing Riho and someone else? Mizuki maybe? I know we would all love Zukki to be it, but that would require way more than a gift basket and a few nice words to Tsunku's office (which is probably all I could do to help make that happen)

Hell id love Haruka to do it too! Maybe Zukki and Haruka with their deep voices will get some lines even if its not the main ones.

EDIT: I feel stupid. I can't believe this didn't come to mind but the obvious answer is Sakura. Duh So yeah Riho and Sakura will probably be Ai and Gaki. (I'm basing it on the DX concert version above)

Riho definitely need not have Ai or Yossy's part from Manpower

i have never ever complained about "line distribution" (the two words i hate the most), but just to annoy some here...

I want more lines for Riho in Manpower please!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I don't know how Riho can do those Manpower growling parts (and I didn't like the way Aichan did them, even though I'm a huge Aichan fan...), but Riho does the "Aisaretai" shouts pretty well, so maybe she can do them in that tone... it could work

edit: And I just realized, zukki could do those growling parts pretty well, her voice would fit those parts pretty well I believe

She (or any 9th/10th/11th gen for that matter) hasn't had one yet. Been waiting for one.

You do realize that this tour started just about a month or two after 9ki joined MM, right? Of course they would be in the back. They all got unit songs through the concert (Mizuki and Kanon with Aika, Riho with Aichan and Gaki, Erina with Sayumi).


As for the line distribution... How the hell would Manpower be a solo? The shouting/loud parts in the back (originally by Aichan and Yossie) overlap with the singing and with each other, even. Not to mention it'd look stupid. It'd be like asking for a solo version of Renai revolution 21. Would look and feel just as weird. The only solo on this album is Aruiteru by Sayumi.

Riho would be able to do Yossie's parts in Manpower. She has enough vocal volume to pull it off and Sakura is like a clone of Aichan so she obviously would be able to do it as well. Which is probably what we'd get. Kanon has the vocal ability to do it as well, but I doubt she has the stamina and confidence for it. Haruka don't have the same depth to her voice from what I've heard. And having a husky voice isn't the same as having depth. Her biggest issue is probably stamina and confidence, too though.

Riho and Sakura would sound great. My ideal would be Kanon and Sakura with Riho getting main lines in the singing, but that's definitely hoping for too much. I'm just worried about how the live versions will sound as they are difficult lines and while Riho has been improving lately, Manpower really demands control.

They're not going to get confidence singing from never singing. They're going to have to step up sometime.

They do sing though. Which, yes, not a lot. But they do during fan events and while that's not enough they also perform a lot during concerts in unit songs etc. I DO hope they get solo songs (in a medley maybe?) this tour though. But I just don't want insecure leads on CD.

I'm pretty sure I'd like Riho's part so much more than Yossie's, never liked her take on it. And Riho would probably do it better since she has more volume to begin with. But if anything I think Riho would be closer to Yossie than Gaki, because... yeah. She's definitely not Gaki-ish. At all. xD

This makes me kinda sad that we never got a Platinum version of Manpower. I loved Aichan and Gaki doing that one. ):

I wasn't criticizing just making an observation. I hadn't seen a performance from that concert for a while. I remember Tsunku saying back then that since they were new they wouldn't have so many parts because it would be a lot to learn in a short amount of time. I was just doing one of those "oh yeah they really didn't sing at all back during that concert, it's so odd for me to see now considering how much they've grown since then and how much things have changed" I wasn't saying "Oh how come they don't have any lines? Why are they pushed to the back?" I really didn't need an explanation.

May I also go off topic and mention how cute the kyukkies looked in that concert too? They look so young !
