AKB's KentuckyFriedChicken is selling pretty well, specially since it isn't an election single, so it's a bit risky. Last single that had similar conditions was Flying Get if I'm not mistaken and it sold about 100k copies for the second week. Also, there are some rumors (unverified of course) that there were intentional stock shortages for KFC, leading to a strong second week.

This is gonna be a tough fight, AKB never had a 2nd week that's #1, so their fans may gun for that, and MM fans really want that third consecutive #1. Even if AKB stands victorious for that week, MM won't go down without a fight.

not only that, but coincidentally Tomochin's and I think Sayaka both graduate on the day of the single release.
which could possibly result in a sales boost, and if anything a stronger second week.

i'm going to be fuming though if KFC gets number 1. Its such a shitty single, and the graduation PV for mariko was so shit.
KFC itself has been a shit single, and if Japan likes the song I dont see the need to buy such a shitty single physically.
i wouldnt be surprised if the rumours about sasshi wotas were true now lol
