Extended audition period: 6500+ auditioners and the most promising batch of Trainees we've had in a long time.
None of them were "good enough"? Why bother even airing the Satoyama footage at all?

Can't do anything about it, so I won't bitch too much.
I can understand "his" reasons but still think it's lame. Hope we at least get some new Trainees out of it (and that they actually debut them).

Maybe Music Station changed the situation. So the Satoyama episode was not their fault. But now I'm more curious as to what Tsunku is up to.

I honestly don't feel disappointed at all because this audition was pretty pointless to begin with. The current line-up still has room for improvement and I'm very satisfied with it. As long as Michishige's Morning Musume is around, I doubt we'll have new members.

Tsunku declares today that there are no qualified candidates for the 12th gen audition “Mirai Shoujo”. Based on the theme and name “Mirai Shoujo” (girl of the future) Tsunku was looking for a super star to add to the group. However, the performance level of Morning Musume is so high right now that he does not feel it would be appropriate to add anyone into the group at this time. Tsunku also will not be adding anyone from H!P kenshuusei at this time. He does not feel comfortable inserting a new girl into this current lineup. However, that does not mean that the talent and skill level of this group of girls were low. To the contrary, Tsunku feels that he saw many girls who were able to shine throughout the audition. He believes they have plenty of talent, but it just quite isn’t enough to join the group.

He adds that had these girls auditioned at the same time as the 9th gen audition, he would have let them in the group. He feels there are a lot of girls with potential. He does not mean any disrespect toward 9th gen with this statement. He states that since 9th gen joined, they have improved to the point where the current Morning Musume is at the highest level of skill in all of MM history.

Tsunku believes that the potential candidates from this past audition are like raw diamond ores. He is very excited to see what will come of proper refinement. As such, he has invited all of the girls he saw potential in to join H!P kenshuusei to gain more experience. He hopes to unveil them when the proper timing comes along.

In regards to 12th gen audition, he plans to hold another audition again. Essentially re-do 12th gen audition, it will not be considered 13th gen. He also states that he has a lot of things on his mind for the future of H!P – including a new group which could potentially be filled with the girls from this audition. Tsunku has a very positive outlook on everything and hopes you guys will look forward to whats coming next.

oh lord he is looking for a maki but i hope he doesn't end up with a kusumi.
yes i feel the group is good as it is, but saying that and building the anticipation for auditions and being let down is disappointing especially after how Sakura's was handled. I feel sorry for all the girls that auditioned as well.

Damn I was not expecting that, but I absolutely agree with his decision. The momentum for current Momusu in it's CURRENT form is so high, it would almost derail it if they added new girls. I think the momentum should reach a comfortable, stable level before adding any new girls. It's straight up chaos right now with them becoming "the Boom" again and adding new girls to that... man that would be difficult.

This isn't like unlucky 7 where he flat out said no one was good enough, this is different. He wanted (for the first time ever I swear) a girl who was already polished and ready to go to keep up with the current Momusu and there just wasn't anyone. In fact, he said a lot of girls were VERY good, but shoving them in Momusu would have probably been a mistake, If he was indeed looking for a Namie Amuro, already-ready-to-to-go, no-training-needed type, I can understand WHY he didn't find one. Those are hard to find. Regular record companies who don't deal with idols have a hard time finding those, I can see why he didn't find one in an idol audition (Where it's pretty much expected the girl is green)

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts exactly.
Doesn't matter if you were for or against these auditions. It's a letdown.
All hype and no result.

I'll believe the thing about the new group/girls when I see them.

That's okay. This audition seemed random in the first place, when everything else has been managed well prior to Reina leaving.

I honestly went to sleep last night and KNEW something like this was going to happen... I mean it's whatever to me, if he's going to make a new unit then cool i guess?

Just a slap in the face to the members promoting the auditions in the first place?
