I just need to rush through Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D before I can get into any other game, but that's going to get fixed soon.
Animal Crossing is way more important than DKCR3D.
You mean that SSB4 hasn't sold you on Animal Crossing by association? This is boinsie's first Animal Crossing.. she seemed pretty on the fence about it, but since the minute she's gotten it she's been pretty diehard over it. I think that's a pretty strong testament. The game just oozes charm, too. The localizations are pretty on par with the Paper Mario stuff for superb, witty writing.
The game is probably somewhere between Harvest Moon and The Sims, but with Nintendo all over it. The connectivity with friends is huge. As far as your own single player stuff goes, the game constantly sets out little goal posts for you to meet, so you're never without some objective to eventually meet. If you want to avoid the objectives and just live in your town, you totally can.
I think you need to play the game to get it. Any rental places still exist around you?
