Maasa is by far the weakest link in the group right now. She's the worst dancer, the worst singer, has the stalest image (Momochi has nothing on Maasa's 8 years of THIS), is clearly not in the best shape of her life, and tops it off with something that resembles boredom. Someone in UF* should chop her hair off, dye it blonde, put her in some overtime training and hope it kickstarts her to giving a damn.

Golden Chinatown isn't horrible, but the lack of Risako and Miyabi really hurts it. I'll be listening to the instrumental pretty exclusively, I'd say.

But Maasa doesn't look miserable in -this- performance of cha cha SING, does she? only in Chinatown. I really think it's a direction thing, it sucks because Berryz is sucky at serious for the most part and they're shoehorning serious so hard on Berryz right now.

Also in my opinion part of Chinatown's goodness is that isn't a Risako/Miyabi festival. Usotsuki is weak enough as a song (in my opinion), but the fact that it was SO heavily dominated by Risako and Miya made it even more uninteresting for me. Chinatown is pretty even and it mostly showcases Yurina (which is refreshing) and Momo (which is awesome).

BTW in these performances you can hardly say Risako is a better singer than Yurina.

Not when she doesn't have solo lines. Her couples lines in Cha Cha Sing were definitely more sung than Yurina's spoken monologues.

Yurina and Risako are stable. But Risako is a much better singer than Yurina is.

Some people prefer even line distribution, and some simply prefer good singing. I couldn't care less if Maasa, Chinami and honestly even Captain and Yurina wouldn't get solo lines again as I simply don't like their lack of singing ability/tone of their voice. Could also explain why Berryz is one of my least favorite groups, as they're on average easily the least talented one in terms of singing and dancing.

I noticed it in first couple of second of the performance. It's much more lively or cheerful or something. I hope it's the version that they release.

I was going to say that about Chinami . Although they're both pretty even in their badness, just differently bad. Everybody remember in Dchingigishgis Khan when they were hilarious and full of personality?
