I think that at this point, jpopcrew is probably just a general term for the JPM mods, admin, and whoever handles the hardware/software tech stuff.

Either that, or it's the person whose head jpopcrewcut is sitting on.

Nope, jpopcrew is admin of JPM. A single person who at some point registered domain and set up forum, all problems are due to fact that he or she is out of communication. Who ever he/she is probably quite amused over what is happening to forum. Someone have paid for domain and server.

That was over six years ago, though. I suspect that over time, admin and technical responsibility for the board has shifted other people, and they just kept the name jpopcrew.

But who knows, jpopcrew could be a (lethal, Rudy Rucker-approved, non-Asimovian) robot, an AI which spontaneously evolved on the internet, or... one of us.

^^ jopcrews absence is reason board is FUBAR'ed, without admin rights no one can update phpBB or anything or do anything about that cluster fucked SQL database. Well they (mods) can try to fix database, but that is much harder than just erasing whole damn thing.

EDIT: I took another look at small print of JPM... phpBB has ©2005... that is last confirmed sighting of jpopcrew.

What I wanna know is how the mods became mods. Like...the last one was...Callandra? Like, who contacted jpopcrew to make her a mod? Or can the current mods make other people mods?

^They can't. That's why the Morning Musume forum can't have a new active mod. No admin = no new mods.

Callandra posted the rules thread in April of 2007, so I'm assuming then. (It's been THAT long?)

But is the lack of contact from jpopcrew really the cause as to why there's no MM mod? I always assumed that most people in the MM forum just seem to always want to keep OP as mod.

I figured that we didn't mind having OP as mod. We just didn't want other mods coming to our part of the forum.

Recently when chatter arose regarding our need of a Momusu mod, H4H came and said that only an admin can make new mods.
