So how does the voting work these days? I see there's a poll but people post their choices too. Are you supposed to do both, or does just the poll count?

^ It depends on the poll. Sometimes people post in order to indicate their strategies. Sometimes people post in order to psyche out the rest of us. But the only times it's actually required are when boinsie says so, typically in the final round in order to flush out lurkers. Otherwise, simply voting is enough.

Pro tip: Except for the times when boinsie says posting is required, what you post does not need to match your actual votes. Lying is a valid strategy.
