2011 Membership Contest - Congrats, Starra
Posted: Sat Jun 11, 2011 2:00 pmThe plan will be something like this: Open to any current or future member who expresses an interest in joining the contest by posting ONE and ONLY ONE post in this "contest" thread, and who has, besides that, at least 10 "substantial" posts in other topics on the board. Past and present moderators and admins, are ineligible, sorry. Winners to be chosen either at random, or possibly by a vote or tally of some kind. However, if you are designated to be the winner, your posting record will be examined. If it looks like you just posted "me too" or "o hai" to meet the requirements, you will be disqualified (which is what is meant by "substantial.")
Being a douche isn't in and of itself a disqualifying factor, but if a participant is banned for some reason during the contest, that user will no longer be in consideration as a winner.
The contest will run until at least July 1, 2011. After July 1, we will see how many total members we have. (Currently 196). We should have at a minimum 20 new members with 10 "substantial" posts each. If we do not have that many, the contest may continue for a longer period, and possibly as long as Sept 1, 2011. If there are fewer than 20 new members with 10 "substantial" posts each by that date, management reserves the right to cancel the contest with no compensation or award given to any of the participants.
Anyone who is caught participating in the contest under two usernames will be immediately disqualified, and anyone who is strongly suspecting of doing same MAY be disqualified at the sole discretion of management.
The prize is a Y5000 gift certificate set to expire on June 10, 2012.
