I never knew that Tomomi Ohe still had a blog

When she was in AKB she was BY FAR my favorite member. Come to think of it, my interest in the group started to drop just a bit after she left, and just steadily kept dropping, to the point where I don't even recognize like 75% of the members any more.

Anyway I'm happy to find out she's still in the entertainment industry...!

There were pictures. Some people said they were photoshopped, but it's hard to tell.

No one said anything. Yukirin did not address the pictures. Management did not address the pictures. The guy (from NEWS iirc) did not address the pictures.

They were much clearer pictures than your usual blurry, paparazzi scandal pictures with face masks and hats and sunglasses. They were together, hugging, posing for the camera.

No one said anything, at all whatsover. Pretended like it never happened.

Since Miichan's scandal....

Murashige did not get punished for her scandal. Milky didn't get punished for her scandal. Now Yukirin. I feel as though I'm definitely missing some.

Momonya didn't get punished for hers either which iirc was right after Miichan.

Basically, since Miichan, they have not officially demoted a girl or kicked her out for a scandal, nor have they made any official statements. Sure, Murashige was not in senbatsu in the next HKT and NMB single and her kennin was then cancelled. Sure, Milky's kennin was moved from AKB to SKE for a year. But these things did not officially happen because of the scandals.

So my reasoning is Miichan's thing gave them SUCH a bad image that they are going to stop really enforcing the loveban rule.

Or maybe by enforcing it by taking the girl off to the side and saying "don't do that," instead of subjecting her to shameful public humiliation. Private admonition has the benefit of not adding fuel to the tabloid fire, meaning the stories will dissipate more quickly and there will be less benefit to the tabloid for promoting the story in the first place. With literally hundreds of girls in their employ the AKS empire can't afford to have a scandal break out every couple of weeks anyway; they need for such things to just fade away like other kinds of unsubstantiated gossip.

Solidiying her place in my oshi list. She was already pretty damn high after I met her in person and she took the time to stop the security who were shoving me away after my handshake to write out my name properly for an autograph, even if spelling it took FOREVER.

I really hope what you guys are saying is what's happening now. The loveban rule was just so indefensible and, like you said Zunu, it created a scandal where there really wasn't one.

*UPDATE*
So apparently, they are starting to build an MNL48 buliding in the Phillippines! That is so great. I don't think they have a lot of huge music artists over there, and there are tons of talented girls there, so I'm so excited for this.

^ There's a good amount of soloists but not really groups (unless it's a band). It'd be interesting for this to push through there. And yes, I think Japanese culture is pretty known there, there's value in young talents there (e.g. The Voice Kids), and definitely a lot of people who want to be famous/singers. I bet they'll be using SM Malls (mall chain) around the country as event venues, as well as possibly some of the big arenas.
