a surprise announcement today at Angerme's Christmas event, Tamura Meimi will graduate from Angerme and H!P. She wants to start from scratch and learn to be a singer. She also wants pursue her dream of becoming a musical actress.

Too bad. She added a lot of flavor. ANGERME automatically becomes slightly less interesting to me without her, especially vocally, though she isn't my favorite member. I hope she does well as an actress.

There's no source on this. It's one dude on 2ch who posted it right at the start of the event, and he hadn't posted anything before the event saying he was going. Wait for an official source (aka not 2ch) before posting these threads.

This actually doesn't surprise me at all.

Meimi has been having that same "I'm bored with this" look on her face as Yuuka did near the end of her run. Meimi had the personality for an idol when she first joined but due to whatever outside forces there be, it got toned down to an extent that I'd say Meimi seems pretty bland. Combine that with the fact that 2ki has always been shafted, first by Ayaka and Kanon, then by 3ki, Meimi has always been pushed to the side even though she's front girl material.

Whether she stays with UF* or not is up in the air but I'd be excited to see where being a "real singer" takes her.

I so knew Riho graduating to pursue her dreams would encourage other girls to follow suit. Seriously, people really didn't realise how she really was the foundation for current Cool Hello Project.

But I didn't expect it so soon though omg and Spring 2016 is so close as well. Can we just have a year with no changes and no additions? This is too much.
The difference in fun between '14 and '15 is too much.

To everyone who support us
I, Meimi Tamura, will graduate from ANGERME and Hello! Project during 2016 spring.
I have been a Hello! Project idol for 4 years and a half, since I became S/mileage. This year, I have been able to do this hall tour, and perform successfully 2 times as 9 members at the Nippon Budokan. Fukuda Kanon-san also graduated and we have welcomed a new member so this year was really full.
With all of this, I want to follow my own challenge! This feeling became little by little stronger. And during ANGERME’s activities, many people told me they like when I sing, and every time I heard those words, I thought about always singing.
Then, about one of my other dreams… I would like to be a musical actress. After this nice dream realized of becoming a S/mileage member, I would like to have a new start and fulfill this new dream.
I am anxious about some points, but I made this decision thanks to all the fans.
S/mileage grew up as ANGERME. As ANGERME’s member, I have been proud that I performed as a Hello! Project idol.
I will cherish the remaining time I have as an ANGERME’s member and I will continue to try my best harder than ever!
Please continue to support ANGERME, as well as Meimi Tamura!

I think Kanon's graduation opened the gate for ANGERME girls that and the 4th Generation Auditions. Before that I'm sure that the girls kind of thought it would have to be all or nothing in a way with S/mileage/ANGERME.

As much as I HAAAATE it, she is one of the most logical graduations and many of us have wondered before how H!P got so lucky to get such a talented person such as her. I'm going to miss her voice so much. And she was one of the first non-MM girls that I grew to really like.

If she can find the right kind of songs/company/producers (possibly not even stay with UF*) she could go really far and I would adore following a solo career from her.

So conflicted.

I wonder when and where her grad will be specifically....
