^ i originally had it as Nacchi/Maki for Aichan, but considering Maki's short tenure in the group and the fact that Nacchi remained "the face" of MM made me think that qualified her to remain #1, and then i realized Mikitty was REALLY popular as far as her era goes, i thought they'd make a good parallel.

Was Mikitty really all that popular? I woulda put her near Yossi, tbh.

maybe i'm thrown off by how popular she is now, but they really did push her.. not quite the equivalent of Maki for her era, but she certainly ranked above the rest of 6th gen during her tenure. i kind of wonder how she compares to Koha's popularity, but it's hard to tell because Koharu hadn't quite reached her peak in popularity by the time Mikitty left.

would have also been interesting to see how the popularity would have split among all of 6th gen if she had stuck around until 2010.

My impression was that Koharu was popular mostly with KR fans, not with MM fans.

i think she was rivaling Reina in popularity at one point (judging by H!P shop sales, she out-sold Reina 3 times in a row or something like that), but of course that was thanks to her push as Kirarin, as well as being a pretty consistant center in MM. i have no idea how many of those fans were just there for Kirarin.. i think she went back down by the time she graduated (either that or Reina went up).

konkon was top girl until she graduated no mistake about it, eri was pretty popular cause of elizabeth kyamei and eric kamezou and her pbs
yep mikitty was pretty popular, they were banking on her popularity to push junlin in the group.

what do you mean by "top girl"? she certainly wasn't more popular than Aichan or golden era. i think she was more popular than 6th gen for a while (as most new members are less popular than established members for a while), but i'm not sure how long that lasted, especially when it comes to Reina since she rose in popularity faster than Sayu/Eri.

aichan wasnt that popular in 05 she started getting popular in 06, but 05-06 was konkon domination. wotas love the konkon type. eri was pretty popular as well and i think gaki rose in popularity cause of gakikame then she fell.

'Struth, Konkon was hugely popular during her peak years (2004-2006). In fact, I believe her photobooks during that time were some of the best selling in all of Japan. Aichan was definitely second to her until after she graduated.

maybe people have lead me to believe otherwise then, i remember being told that KonKon was more of a PB seller than anything else. but by the time i became a fan of MM she was on her way out, so i didn't get to witness any of it first hand.
