I still have work despite the world chaos going around with an impending layoff approaching. It’s pretty heavy here.

But it’s getting to a point where I’ll probably have little work to do. I’m hoping so because there’s a backlog of stuff I want to do at work that I’ve been putting off because we were slammed with work at the end of the year.

I am thankful that I'm paid for my teaching job regardless, and I have my freelance job that doesn't really change on my end. However, it's weird being at home so much. Last weekend, I went to some friends' place to hang out, but they all will be back home soon, and I'm making the effort to just stay inside as much as possible. I honestly already have a lot of food at home, so I didn't need to go buy more. I've stopped taking the metro and would just use Lyft if I need to go somewhere.

It's weird not having much to do, since I usually have more to do than I can really deal with. I still have my courses online in the evening. I ordered a Nintendo Switch and the new Animal Crossing that's coming out. I've been wanting to go back to playing more video games because that's one way I can connect with my students, but I just haven't had the time until now. I bought new art supplies. I'm trying to just spend time away from too much social media, so I've been avoiding my phone, and I'd just use my laptop to do stuff since it's easier to deliberately put down. It's an incredibly weird time if you have anxiety.

Clearwater Beach was packed yesterday; as of right now it's still not closed. And my county just reported its first case today. Can't believe it took this long!
I have an x-ray coming up next week, and I don't really have the option to reschedule since my insurance only has it approved for a short window. :/

Yeah, my copy is coming in Friday so I know how most of my indoor time will be spent. :fear:

I also have some books I've been meaning to read, stuff on Amazon Prime I've been meaning to watch, art pieces to work on...

I have enough stuff to keep me busy at home for quite a while, and my company just sent out the notice that we're 100% work-at-home, at least for the next few weeks (for most of us, I think it will turn out to be permanent, which is OK with me).
It is a high-stress situation - and it's bringing up anxieties that I wasn't even sure I had. It's like the world that we all pretty much grew up in has suddenly been replaced by some mashup of bad late-70s-to-80s sci-fi/disaster movies, only without any action hereos or much of a plot. Animal Crossing may become the most popular game on the planet, if only because most of us would much rather live in that world than this one right now (or maybe any time, for that matter).

And there we go, I was supposed to back to work on the 23rd.
Checked our timetables app, I'm at home until the 28th. In fact I'm only working 4 days until April 5.

Called work, we've gone to minimum service due to corona, so anyone who's behind in their compensatory leave is getting them automatically assigned.
Taking the opportunity to reduce that backlog of games, TV, movies & H!P content. ;)

Hope everyone's doing well out there during these times!
My work is also moving to work from home, but my step-father's work is suspended until further notice and we're gearing up for a harsh few months. This really does feel like something out of a movie, and I hope we'll all get out of it together. :)

It's a strange time, and I'm afraid that it's going to be a hard time for far too many people. I hope that we do all manage to get through this!

Hrm. It's warm enough outside that my furnace doesn't need to run much, but it's still too cool to open my windows, so my indoor air is getting stale.

This happens every spring, but it's especially aggravating under the current circumstances.

Staying home is common for me because I'm an introvert. Though, I went out for a walk to get some air and it was lonely and a very uneasy feeling. I hope everyone is doing okay.
