Was finally able to watch the individual Shindan Test performances. We tend to say it every year (and it's generally true), but this year it felt especially true that everyone improved. They all did well, even the newer girls.

Short thoughts (if inconsistent use of surname/given name bothers you, this is your warning):

Spoiler: show

- I didn't think the assigned songs were that interesting for singing, but I liked that it gave them a chance to show off dancing more directly.
- Another year of A+ self-costuming (totally approve of Yoshida's full on old school H!P moment).

- Even though I think I get why Yulia got BP, I also think Mifu might have been my overall favorite in the end.
- If they want to go ahead and revive Country Girls, Honoka is right there.
- Maeshima gonna be the next Runo, baby face with the good voice.
- I didn't think Juice=Juice was realistic for Sakura, and she'll likely never have a Sayuki moment, but if she's already gotten this far with KSS training I don't see why she couldn't at least get to Nanami levels with the extra training that comes from debut.
- Yoshida-kun has surprisingly good breath control already?
- Hasumi's voice didn't crack, she didn't cry or go shaky like she was about to - this was a total win for her compared to her past Test performances.
- Yulia's whole vibe was on here, this is the most "together"/full package she's ever been for a Test.
- Onoda did well enough. I assume her dance award came at least partly from her assigned song performance, it seemed like she did more there than with "Mugen".
- Goto's voice just.. sounds like H!P, somehow. lol (In Tsunku's thoughts he said he could see her voice becoming central to H!P one day, and yeah. That.)
- Ayana is the only one I wish had picked a different song. She did well but something about "Jealousy.." never sounds quite right to me without multiple people performing it.

It is announced that Hello Pro Kenshuusei Maeshima Karin has decided to end her training activities at her own request. She will not perform at Hello! Pro Kenshuusei Recital June 2022 COLOR.

I guess it was trial phase for her. It has only been three months, but she has given up already this early. She couldn't wait for the MM audition to end? Maybe she got her modeling job? Maybe she had the mentality of "If I win this test, I can debut right away." Maybe she felt lonely that Goto Hana got to be on Ohasuta? We'll never know her reason.

- This episode focuses on the 3 new Kenshuusei first, Yoshida Hinoha, Kawashima Mifu, and Goto Hana.
- Assuming they already knew she was ending her training, they already cut out the focus footage of new Kenshuusei Maeshima Karin out of this episode. But she still appears in Goto Hana's footage and in name.
- Recap of the winners
- They start off with Goto Hana, participating in her first test. She only joined a few months ago, so they don't have much to show. They show clips of her first introduction and choosing her songs.
- Then we get see the studio rehearsal of her performance for the first time. She is wearing her gold outfit for Koko ni Iruzee. But at dress rehearsal, she realized she messed up singing the lyrics and continued on. She is trying not to cry but is smiling at the same time.
- They show clips of her performance and the judges comments. Ueno praises her singing voice. Walking backstage, tears start to fall.
- Next is Yoshida Hinoha, who was also taking the test for the first time. They show her in the studio rehearsing in her red outfit. She wanted to appear sparkly but cool too. A clip of both of her performances is shown and the judges comments. The song requires stamina, so Ogata Risa advises to keep doing muscle training. She nervous and little scared, but she remains upbeat and looks to improve her dance. Her teachers were surprised how much she has improved and overcame her timid dancing since she joined last September.

CM for Morning Musume. '22's new single "Chu Chu Chu Bokura no Mirai"

- This is also the first time for Kawashima Mifu to take the Spring diagnostic test. Kawashima joined last September. They show her rehearsing in the studio with her black and white outfit with shiny silver accents. She wants to show her smile in performance. Can she do it?
- They show her performances and judges comments. She said she had fun up there. She won the "Miyamoto Karin & Ogata Risa" Award.
- OCHA NORMA Hiromoto Ruli & Nakayama Natsume styled Kawashima Mifu's hair on the day of the test to help her relax. They both cheered her on and it gave her confidence.

- In the music video shoot for Miyamoto Karin's new single "Nantettatte I Love You", Kenshuusei Matsubara Yulia, Onoda Karin, Hashida Honoka, and Murakoshi Ayana arrived for the shoot, and participated as back dancers for Karin for the first time. They rehearse with her and check out the video.

- Lastly, digest footage of OCHA NORMA's mini live and send-off release event at Aeon Mall Tokoname at the outdoor open space in Aichi, Yonemura Kirara's home turf.
- OCHA NORMA members arrive in the dressing room and are surprised by the welcome messages and drawings made by the Aeon Mall Tokoname staff.
- After their performance, they had a send-off event, and there were lots of people.
