10th gen audition (WINNERS: Haruna, Haruka, Masaki, Ayumi!)

On 10th gen I just went on intuition. Same as 9th, I didn't have a problem with 9th at all, but I felt in my gut they weren't going to keep me from being down about Eri/Jun/Lin. And I was right. I found Riho a bit too quiet, though super talented, Mizuki boring, Eripon a bit awkward, and I didn't see much of Zukki (OMG I WISH I HAD. SHE'S AWESOME) over the last year.

I just have a gut feeling that this gen is going to rock it out for me. It's the same gut feeling I had about Junjun so hopefully I can trust it

No, I hadn't even read your post when I typed that.

And sure, maybe PVs or MCs isn't what makes one a favorite, but those things are what shows us how good they are with the group etc. As it is right now we know some of their personality and some of their skills. But we definitely don't know them that well, and we have no idea of how funny/smart they are/could be, and honestly we don't even know much about how they can dance or how they sound.
What I'm saying is that we have practically nothing to judge them by and still people go around saying they're way better than 9th gen, they're their favorite members etc etc. It's just ridiculous if you ask me.

Again, not saying I'm not excited about them. I'm VERY excited and I can't wait to see more and get to know them more and to even see real official pictures on their profile. And I think Haruna and Masaki will grow to be favorites of mine, but so far I wouldn't say I know them at all so I can't really say much.

I don't think it's weird, but I loved Junjun the moment she was announced so this is par for the course for me

I don't mind people loving 10th gen, I'm quite a fan of Haruna and Masaki myself, so far.
But... we still haven't seen anything with them, pretty much. No single covers, no performances, no singing... And people already say they're so much better than 9th. Based on what exactly?

I feel like 9th gen in general just got better exposure. 9th gen were intensely followed during BijoGaku and then went straight into HaroProTime. I like Riho for the ace that she is (although her voice COULD improve). Erina's KY (or awkwardness) is totally being exploited and now with OhaSuta her popularity is definitely going to go up. Kanon has always been the odd one; not really a greater dancer/singer but you can tell she's super excited to be part of MM and to perform. Mizuki IS the most boring but I feel like she is also super excited to be a MM but doesn't really know how to express it. I fear that she might end up like Aika, decently talented but will never break out of her shell.

On the other hand with 10th gen yes Haruna is pretty (one of the prettier idols in general actually) but I've heard her sing maybe once. I don't really get the love for Ayumi either. I didn't really feel like she was super "ace-y" to begin with but maybe that's because with 9th gen Riho was a very clear ace. Masaki is definitely an underdog but because she (along with the rest of 10th gen) haven't really gotten tv appearances yet so I can't really judge her personality yet. Kudou seems the most ace-y to me just because of her experience as her egg.

Lastly, I just feel like all of 10th gen joining was overshadowed by Ai-chan's graudation which sucks for them.

P.s. I also think I might just have a soft spot for 9th gen because they're my very first new generation. I became a fan during the Ai/Gaki/Reina/Sayu/Eri/Aika/Junjun/LinLin 8nin period so Eri/Junjun/Linlin was my first grad and 9th gen my first addition to MM...
P.p.s. I WANT A 9TH GEN SONG like Suki na Senpai or Ookii Hitomi. Want want want.

I think they should keep her in/close to the center like they did with Koharu (Naichau kamo, Kimagure). Doesn't mean she have to get big solo lines or anything, but it makes her impossible to miss. She's just that gorgeous that they have to.

I heard she was in a idol group before? Is this true?
If it's true are there pictures or videos of the group she was in?

Sohee : if she has a better voice than KOharu she can do more, but i like what you said too! she would be center in covers and PV and what not. with a couple main solos .

^ she was more of a back-dancer to a group called Dorothy Little Happy, but a permanent/regular member that people would still become fans of.. kind of like how eggs work in H!P.

(also in this last link is 10th gen finalist Tanaka Fuuka who was a dancer in the same group. from what i can gather was not as popular/active as Ayumi? or maybe just wasn't in the group as long, cuz i haven't seen much on her.)
