I wouldn't go that far. Iwao talks about and is teased about Berryz Kobo all the time on the various shows he does. The subject of that quiz show is whatever is the specialty of the contestant that week, and Iwao was the contestant that week.

Is the radio popular in Japan? 62 is pretty low. How do people end up hearing the song ? TV?

Youtube. The radio isn't overly popular anywhere these days, but Japanese radio has a lot of western music that tops idol groups. Let's be honest - most people are not going to drive to work or school blasting Golden Chinatown...

If I had an mp3 jack, I'd totally be blasting some H!P tunes going to work. But alas, I don't and it's still the radio for me. And not that fancy satellite radio, no, just plan old FM. I wonder, does Japan have satellite radio? I assume they do since you can get all sorts of stations through that, but never hear mention of it.

It's all about internet these days. When a large chunk of your work force is going to work by train and not car, you can bet they are web surfing or listening to music on their musical devices.
