Has a Morning Musume senpai ever been disrespected the way Koharu has? I've never seen a show making topic about this before to make current members, who are much younger btw, talk negatively about a person like that. And Sayumi has been downright awful to her in so many ways but subtly, she was like taking every opportunity to diss her. I would totally understand why Koharu wouldn't want to be there on that episode. I mean sure they tried to make it sound funny or an interesting topic, but some terrible shit must of went on that we have no idea about besides what we already know.

Uh, the juniors didn't actually say anything negative about her. That was all Sayu's doing and you can't blame her considering the way Koharu apparently behaved --- asking her senior to come over to install her fax/phone/help recording stuff on TV? Really? Not acceptable unless you're polite about it, no matter if you're 12 or 24.
The things the juniors said were just funny "legends" that they had heard other people talk about. Not disrespectful at all whatsoever. "She put on sunscreen during concerts." & "Even if she gets scolded she doesn't get depressed." Hardly disrespectful.

what.
The topic already exists before the show brought it up and the one who started it definitely wasn't Sayu. On the contrary the way the show addressed it it's almost putting the issue to rest so it's all good.
Sohee already explained it but I also posted a brief summary on the tv/magazine thread, if you could elaborate there on how you reach some of the conclusions in the post i quoted there it would be appreciated. thx

The disrespectful bit was the overall tone of the episode, allowing it to carry such a tone. Not all of them saying something bad to her. It's Eripon and Riho that's a bit bad and because, to focus on her negativities and make the new members look so good out of it. Like the one with sunscreen during concerts, correct me if I'm wrong (maybe I didn't understand that part properly), but it came over as all the members didn't have that problem and didn't have to put sunscreen, making it look like the senpai is weak that she did it while most of them don't. The one with the getting scolded, the fact that Riho heard it from the manager, makes it sound how she is talked about in a negative way often and she is looked at negatively even though that point is meant to be positive.
It's not really them saying bitchy things bluntly in her face, but it all sounds subtle and it comes over that way. Especially Sayumi and how she talks down on her 99% of the time without having anything positive to say about her in front of the new girls. I thought senpai and kouhai thing was all serious, something like that wouldn't happen so easily.
EDIT:
I shouldn't have focused on the juniors Sohee, you're right. It's only a bit in comparison to Sayu but I just felt overwhelmed with that overall negative energy.

In what universe do you need to put on sunscreen when you stand on stage under the stagelights? Maybe I just missed something, maybe it IS possible to get sunburnt by spotlights, so maybe then I'm wrong. But doing that? Koharu explained it that she wanted to be extra super careful to make her skin stay white. Sayumi followed up by saying that before her graduation, Koharu was only eating things to improve/keep one's health et cetera. Not rude and not at all negative. But rather a statement in surprise/amazement that one would do something so exaggerated.
The part about Riho, she didn't say she had heard it from managers. She said that when Koharu would get scolded by managers/senpai she wouldn't be upset about it, despite that being what one normally would be if they would be in her situation. Riho just said that she heard it -- which only takes watching Koharu's graduation DVD where Reina (or was it Risa?) said it to Koharu in her message to her.
You're looking way too much into it and I don't think you even understood everything correctly. No one is being "disrespectful" and Sayumi has every single right to be bitchy to Koharu considering the way she was int he past. Or even the way she is these days too, that radio incident not long ago.

Japanese TV shows always talk about embarrassing episodes to "make fun" of people anyway.
None of it (for the most part) are done to purposely diss someone.
It's entertainment. Besides, Koharu's been made fun of for YEARS anyway.

About Riho, what you said is exactly what I heard. I thought I was wrong because I read the translation from randompasserby that said:
3. The unperturbed legend.
Sayashi heard from her manager that Koharu was never perturbed by anything during her tenure in MM. No matter her mistakes, getting scolded by senpais or managers never seemed to get her down so it almost seemed like she didn't even reflect on it. Sayu added there's never a disobedient girl worse than Koharu in MM.
http://jplop.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5 ... 60#p125812Since nobody corrected her/him, I assumed I was wrong and not he/she.
Thanks for making that clear!
It sounds like I understood everything perfectly the way it was meant, even if I am not as good as you and don't understand everything 100%. That's why I'm very insecure about my Japanese because I made (and still do sometimes) lots of mistakes in the past.
Maybe I'm looking too much into what the juniors are saying, but you can't deny the overall negative tone and regardless of what went on between Sayumi and Koharu, I still don't think it's worth that much hostility.

The dvd interview is great.
This is great and makes up for the high expectations I had for the DVD content. Its a quality interview and they look amazing.
About the sunsceen thing, I know with most make-up like BB Creams have sunscreen qualities like SPF 30+ so applying sunscreen on stage even during Koha's time is quite strange. Kinda hard to understand tho not being Jap and all.
These photos of the girls coming up are gorgeous O______O
@Zunu I meant her hair looks bad and she just looks bad appearance wise.
I still find it funny that out of all musumes she's a model now.
