They were badly managed and dressed but they were great performers I think there was something in there (the idea of foreign idols) worth saving. But I liked Girls Club too so...

i think Japanese people are just bad at picking foreign girls that fans can really get behind and root for. i'd rather they not do it at all than they end up with another mess of girls that are awkward and mostly not appealing.

maybe that would be a good time to open voting to the fans (Japanese fans, so that the girls don't get their family/friends campaigning for voting). if they can pick their favorites there is more likely to be SOME actual interest rather than universal ridicule.

then again, in this day and age of social media being such a part of life (Japanese tend to be more anonymous or quiet on social media than people in the west).. any girl that wins will most stir up controversy with what they wrote/posted either during the audition process, or a long time ago. the more i consider it the more i think this just would not turn out well. let bygone coconuts be bygone.

I unironically love Coconuts Musume, haters (Granted, its really only the Danielle, Ayaka, Lehua, Mika lineup that I enjoy, but I thought they had good songs during that time!)

Jun Jun was totally cute in a way Japan could get behind. If she had LinLin's voice (or if LinLin had Jun Jun's cuteness) they'd be the perfect idol.
