Maybe that could be the anime staring Berryz Kobo: "Berryz Kobo - Idol Yakuza" sugary sweet idols by day, tough as nails gangsters at night who protect their turf against rival gangs.

^They could, but BK has had minimal impact in live action shows. Their major impact has been in anime so an anime about them would be a natural fit.

Maybe Berryz Kamen could be a rival gang?

Berryz anime would be cool. Actually any H!P anime would be cool. During platinum era H!P was really successful in that department. Koharu had Kirari and her songs for that, Buono had Shugo Chara and did the music for that (not to mention Shugo chara egg and guardians 4) and Berryz had inuzuma 11 and their songs for that were awesome.

I just wish Berryz found more of a direction and stuck with it. Right now their theme is just "Asia" and that doesn't really speak to a musical direction and its also very cheesy.
