I'm not sure about Yurina, I think she's the worst singer of them all, or maybe it's that her voice is really unpleasant, idk.
About them getting the short end of the stick, dancing wise, maybe it's because they're not really good dancers. Captain's is one of H!P best, Miyabi and Momo are good, Risako is just ok, but the other three are just awful. They can't have better dance routines, because they just can't. And sadly, they're a bit old already to improve on that.
I think Berryz's problem is complacency, they were chosen first, so they were "safe", they didn't need to push themselves, they debuted when H!P was at its highest, and they went to Saitama just because they were under H!P's umbrella (same happens with AKB's subgroups now), C-ute started on H!P's decline. Berryz already had their best days, and they lack motivation, maybe they believe it's not worth giving it your 100%, since nothing will be the same as before.
C-ute members have been motivated since the start, because they were the "rejected" ones, who didn't debut with Berryz. They cried on Berryz first concert, because they weren't there. But that was their motivation, they constantly improved themselves and now they became what we see, a highly skilled performing group, with very good looking girls.
Look at Chisato's improvement in singing, she's very good now. Nakky couldn't sing, but she improved her dancing and became c-ute's best dancer. All of them are skilled dancers, they worked their butts off.
About the good looking part, were c-ute girls always this hot? Maimi was too skinny, as well as saki, well they were all a bit too thin , but now they seem like the live in the gym, their bodies are well toned and they look fantastic on bikinis or outfits that show a lot of skin. They're are taking care of themselves, something that isn't happening in Berryz (except if you're Miyabi, she's hot), look at Maasa and Risako, they ARE overweight... why they can't do a little more effort, trying to look better? They're idols and that's what fans want (yeah, blame this superficial world)
Also, management hasn't given up on them yet, they're still selling, even though it's not big numbers. But now, there's a new player in town, Juice=Juice. They're gonna be given a huge boost, like S/mileage had in the beggining (and all the other groups were neglected, if you remember well), so Berryz is the most likely to be given the least budget and stuff. Damn, they may even graduate all of Berryz for that matter.
So, I think the Budokan "ultimatum" is just that, fill it, or you're out. And no one could be blamed if that happens, but themselves, Tsunku said it clearly, they have to give it their best efforts. I hope they change their attitudes and work their asses off.
