It's meant to be a portmanteau of the French "ange larme" ("angel tears"). The English-language confusion stems from the parts they chose to fuse looking like two OTHER English words ("ANGER ME"), which are pronounced much differently from the intended French. This, paired with the Japanese-y pronunciation of French not being quite right either, leaves everyone scratching their heads as to how to properly talk about this new-old H!P group.

"ahn-jur-moo"? Though then I also feel dumb pronouncing the "moo" ending because it's not like that's how the French terminate that ending. Oi.
I guess just need to repeat it to myself over and over, and try to just see the name "ANGERME" as a symbol. ^^;;;;;;

I didn't mean "angel me" I meant that it's "angel + larme" so maybe the "r" comes from the "r" in "laRme" as opposed to the "l" in angel in engrish form. Meaning it really should be an r.

Like, maybe they took the first part of "angel" and the second part of "larme" -> angel-larme

just to be clear (because from reading the last page i think there's still some confusion here).

the english word "angel" is not involved at all here. the french word for "angel" just happens to start with the same 4 letters: ange. they did not shorten the word "angel" here.

to they took the word ange and combined it with larme in basically the worst way possible for anyone that knows english. and in japanese, it sounds nothing like how you'd pronounce it either in english or french lol.
