It's meant to be a portmanteau of the French "ange larme" ("angel tears"). The English-language confusion stems from the parts they chose to fuse looking like two OTHER English words ("ANGER ME"), which are pronounced much differently from the intended French. This, paired with the Japanese-y pronunciation of French not being quite right either, leaves everyone scratching their heads as to how to properly talk about this new-old H!P group.
