Oh Tsunku is definitely one of those who sees a lot of the problems in Japan. And he does put a lot of it out there in the lyrics. But not as straight forward as I wish it would be, but I don't blame him. There's no way that would sell lol.

The description of "Kimi Sae Ireba Nani mo Iranai" sounds like it's saying that society is absurd and the ones with "pure heart" know it (yet do not know what to do because it is a daunting task for an individual to stand up to society, especially in a place like Japan), so they live their everyday life being bothered by how things suck but also try to hold on to the good things in life like love and friendship that get people through the day.

"The world may suck, but as long as I've got you, I'm OK" is one of those themes that's shown up in pop songs off and on for a long, long time.
If madness made us strong, we would all be invincible.

Yes, I get all that. The general sentiment is nothing new. It was his specific example that surprised me.

Has Tsunku gotten so deep in his lyrics, that we're discussing philosophy out of them? I never thought this day would come :mikihead:

...Tsunku's lyrics have always been quite deep? Except for when they're not (Monkey dance, Peace, etc)? But I wouldn't say that lyrics like these lately are new really.

Hey, I think that the lyrics to The Peace are super-deep -- they just Dada-deep! XD

^ I think you mean Da Di Du De Do Da Di Deep XD

EDIT: Boins, whenever I get a "thanks" from you for one of my oyajigyagu type jokes, I always imagine that you're like, "Yeah Zuun, I might've told that exact same joke....IN MY HEAD...but er, probably woulda kept it to myself. Even so, thanks for the overshare."
