The songs are about love in general. Why would they make 13-14 year olds sing about sex?
I admit,Egao YES NUDE had a mature image, but in no point was their a boy and they were doing...what you see in most HipHop American MVs.
And never did their songs talk about drugs.

What I mean in sex/drugs is when they are talking about lower body parts and getting high off of molly and such.

The PV for Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai looked like Hollywood's image of an acid trip.

Why does there need to be a boy for a PV to look like they are talking about sex?

Morning Musume did do a song a while back called "Megami ~Mousse na Yasashisa~" about a "Venus Mousse". Maybe that's the name of some underground designer drug in Japan that never became popular outside of Japan?

I know you're joking, but I'm not sure if you actually know what it's about. XD It was used as an ad for Venus Mousse Pocky.

I wonder which of the Berryz songs they'l use most for promotion? If they'll break up performances like MM is doing to promote their current triple A side, or if they'll stick mainly to one of the tracks...

Well, not exactly but it would give off the sense of a sex song.
Megami ~Mousse na Yasashisa~ was promoting pocky. Simple. It had the older members, so I guess why they gave it some type of "sexier" image.

What I mean by "sex&drugs" is the type of crap you would hear on the radio nowadays. "Pop a molly, I'm sweating WOO!". And then all this stuff about having sex. Most Hello!Project songs are about love. Some songs may sound more mature and sexier, but it never came to the part where they would openly talk about having sex.

^ Yes and no.
When it comes to Pop-music, 99% of the songs are about "love", or just lovely relationhips. Maybe 75% of these would be about sex, even if it doesn't reaaly look that way.
These are invented numbers, I'm just guessing them by experience. And it's like the general average for the entire world. Japanese are unique so it variates a lot.
When it comes to idol music, almost all of it would be about love because it's what sells, and I guess they wouldn't make many "mature" (cough-cough) songs because it would generally contradict the image of the idols they're selling too. I mean, you can't just make these "pure" girls to sing about "the best night of their lives" or "the time they truly felt as women" (which is repeated like in 1 of each 3 American pop songs). But of course you can sell her if she's saying "I love you much, very much much much". Imo, at least.

So no surprise that a great part of H!P's songs would sing about love.

Anyway, i still think that, given the fact that H!P threats with teenage girls which are still at the age of being educated, and given the fact how actually Japan's society is, all the songwiters of H!P are doing a damn good job - they're really helping the girls keep growing, to say it so....

Never mind that half of the H!P the past year/s are about wanting to spend the night together, and be with their boyfriend, and want to kiss and do more, and that they're feeling so hot and---

Having that said, I see BC's point. I dislike "western" music too. But H!P (and jpop in general) still has sex in their songs, even if it's not as spelled out.

There are a lot of Western songs that's not just about sex and objectifying women and partying all night), even if you're just looking at the artists that top the charts. It's mostly hip-hop and the heavily autotuned stuff that are about those things.

I think so, and all along there have been songs that at least have tried to be emotionally honest.

I admit that I tuned out most Western pop music quite a while ago (including the stuff that I used to listen to, or that I probably would be listening to now), but that was and is as much for my own personal reasons as it is a matter of taste. It's always been a mix of the good, the bad, the ugly, and on occasion, flashes of excellence and beauty, so you pick out what you like, and let the rest go by.
