I think Kanon is fine the way she is and I like it. It makes me feel better about my own weight seeing a non-stick thin idol.

None of these girls are remotely fat but what happens is when they are on stage next to the sickly skinny girls they look "fat". >_> The others need to put on a few lbs

No need to exaggerate in the other direction, there's nobody in MM who's sickly skinny, either.

I specifically chose a picture with no one else in it, so you can't say she only looks heavy next to the other girls. She either looks heavy or she doesn't.

I have nothing to say about whether it's good or bad, or if it's justifiable or understandable given her situation, or whatever. That's all pointless handwringing if you can't agree on the basic facts.

I thought she was chubby for a while.


Also, thinking about it... H!P has never had a girl who's actually fat. Sure, they've had chubby girls, but they've mostly been "chubby" by idol/Japanese standards.

As for Kanon, I think she looks fine.

From a human being point of view, it's (obviously) perfectly OK if Kanon's a little stocky.
If she were the girl next door, nobody would mind, hopefully.
But, if she were the girl next door, she wouldn't have a huge international audience of people following her career.
And unfortunately, as a Musume, she's IMO strayed far from her ideal "idol" weight. And it could have a strongly negative impact on her future opportunities, especially if she keeps gaining.

Someone mentioned it earlier but Masaki does this cute left and right dance whenever she has a solo. She also puts her hand on her cheeks.
It's just kind of funny.

Riho's birthday tomorrow so she got cake today when they were shooting the MV.
