Well, Seishun no Serenade was sung by Mano herself, and personally I really like that song. Same with Onegai dakara, so even if it's simple/easy doesn't mean it's bad? (:

Agreed, a good song doesn't have to be difficult to sing. I'm no singer, but most H!P songs are quite low-register, aren't they? And even that doesn't mean it's easy to sing, Momoko struggles with very low notes live

... o__o most of them are super high. I strain my voice a lot whenever I go to karaoke.
Well, I have a low-ish voice, I guess. But most songs are high, really. XD

maybe it's different for guys and girls?
like, as a girl i start singing on the high end, which makes their high notes just IMPOSSIBLE for me (since i'm an alto).. but if my voice could go lower (which it can't, i have a really limited mid-range lol), i would just move an octave down and so their high notes would be easy, it's their low notes that would be the harder ones (probably not as much for guys, i've never tried being a guy so i don't know really XD).

I think I'm an alto too... and I know I can go low. But.. err. All this octave-talk... I wish I knew more about it.
But for girls at least, H!P songs are generally high. xD

Yeah, who knows

See, I did karaoke for Otakebi Boy and Seishun Bus Guide, and also for Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance when I was in Ongaku Project. Those weren't high at all, but we did an Arashi song... I don't remember the name, it starts with several "YEH YEH YEH!" if I recall correctly, and it was tough XD

And then I realized the song was not that high, but the guys are very high-pitched as opposed to me. But again, I'm not a singer so I don't know for sure.

EDIT: Arashi song was Happiness. The download link still works after 2 years XD

Well you can sing it low even if you just listen to the karaoke and all, but question is if you hit the notes correctly that way, and pitch and all? I know, listening to old recordings I used to think were great, I realize I didn't even hit the easiest of notes (so horrible so listen to, seriously >>) but I could sing it without much trouble and I thought it sounded fine.
I don't know.

Either way, I always get super happy when I can sing a MM song and it's not that difficult anymore. Means I've gotten better with it. I can sing Ookii hitomi pretty easily these days, it's awesome. I couldn't when it came out. xD

This is my Otakebi Boy WAO!. Bad singing aside, I don't think it sounds wrong pitch-wise, does it?

I wouldn't say so, no? I have taken zero song classes though, but I don't think it sounds bad really.
Probably it's just all different between girls and guys. (:
