yeah, i'm getting my first batch from FromJapan. bunch of pin-up posters, a couple of the BLT photos, and the Uchouten LOVE box set.

sooo hard not to order more.. but i'm trying not to cuz i don't have that much time left before i leave Japan, i don't want to get in a shipping mix-up. how much did shipping cost to California, erilaz?

My "Charge 2" payment was ¥6528. Here's the breakdown:

Domestic delivery charge: ¥2010
Bank transfer fee: ¥1008
System usage fee: ¥310
Overseas shipping (EMS): ¥3200 (for a total gross weight of 1350 grams)

yikes, that's a lot.
somehow i only had to pay like $25 shipping for two huge boxes from Shopping Mall Japan. but then, i always felt like i got away with something, i don't remember being charged for the first box (which was shipped separately way before i ever requested to ship my items, because it was a pack of photobooks which would have been too heavy to process together with everything else). but of course, the comission was way more..

i still owe them like $160. i should finally be able to pay them next month!
i don't even remember what i ordered from SMJ last, i have no idea what i owe the money for.

^ Yeah, they must've screwed up in your favor. I can't see two huge boxes of stuff going within the U.S. for $25, much less from Japan to the U.S.

The shipping cost is the one thing keeping me in check. But YAJ has so many things that I want!!!

Which is exactly why FJ is good for use on Y!J. It's not for normal items, but for cheap awesome items. The shipping and fees might add up a bit, but when you're getting the items themselves for so much cheaper than retail, it's worth it.

That's precisely the sort of stuff I've been getting, too. I'm finding singles that have eluded me for YEARS, priced at ¥200 to ¥500 each. One of the things in my current batch is the Idol wo Sagase! Collection Vol. 1 DVD -- only ¥150!

mine wasn't that much cheaper!
i guess cuz it was spread out over 11 auctions, my bank transfer was around ¥1300.. domestic shipping was ¥1680 shipping to me was around ¥1800 and system usage was about the same. my total was just over ¥5200. now that i know, i'll save my next batch for when i'm back in the US. ¥1300 additional is worth being able to pay when i'm on a less restricted budget.
