I'd squee, but it's cold enough IRL right now that it's hard to get excited about going to Iceland for authentic cold…

Is Game of Thrones good? I've been meaning to watch that as well. I mean I know people love and I loved Dragon Age which was influenced by the books so I'd probably like it.

Is it good? Absolutely. But will you like it? I don't know.

Many people go into it thinking it's just another doorstop fantasy like "The Wheel of Time" or "The Sword of Truth", but it's not. It's driven more by politics and personal relationships than by sword-and-sorcery hijinks. Almost everything is morally ambiguous, or at least more realistic than the usual Good Versus Evil fantasy formula. Primary characters are routinely killed off, often due to their own poor choices. And thanks to the unusual POV storytelling, a lot of the action happens off-stage. We the readers/viewers only see the consequences of it.

If that sounds appealing, then yes, you will probably like it.

Here's the trailer for the first season…

And here's one of my favorite, slightly spoilerish scenes so far…

thats the dorama based on the game Dragon Quest, "Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro"

they even have the slimes in it. Up Up Girls Akari and Ayano made a brief cameo as extras.

@chibs what amped said, sorry forgot to mention the title orz

Akari and Ayano were in ep 8 for like 5 seconds dancing to yumemiru 15teen you can barely see their faces(not even sure it's them now) ... in a place called akibara village ...controlled by a sleazy dude called akimo who throws away failed idol candidates in a monster infested area, creating a new unit Watarirouka de Mamono o Taosu Hashiritai and an election system. Hmm sounds kinda familiar

It's a pretty good watch for a laugh or two though it got kinda too cheesy for my taste near the end. If you're a fan of jrpg in general and don't mind low budget parodies, i'd definitely recommend this show lol

I watched The Americans the other night. It was interesting. Felt a little slow-paced, but I'll attribute it to the fact it was the pilot and that there were more commercials than actual show. Hopefully it'll get quicker with more episodes.
I also started The Following, which was better than I expected. Actually made me jump a few times.

Agreed, but that's the second season and therefore crammed full of spoilers, which I try to avoid when introducing a newbie to the series.
