It's still a bit hard for me specially my right hand. I should probably invest in a XL.

Softbank now owns Drama Fever. They had a bid up for DreamWorks Animation that was apparently rejected.

The acquisitions they're making seem interesting. I don't know how I feel about them, but it is interesting.

First The Hub, and now Bommerang will be rebranded. Still some classic animated shows sticking around, but apparently they'll also be airing newly-acquired material from 'around the world' (which I hope doesn't really mean "Canada, sections of Europe, Pokemon"). I like the sound of even more new animated shows for me to try out, but I don't know how much I trust this rebranding.

Though I suppose I should be happy it's all-animation, not some sad rehash of "live action experiments" 2010 Cartoon Network.

Evidently in the "anime Simpsons", Homer is Zoro from One Piece, and Marge is Rangiku from Bleach.
Just in case anyone isn't a Simpsons fan, the "French Simpsons" are directed by Chomet (Triplets of Belleville, and he's also has done a "couch gag" for The Simpsons before).
The other Simpsons incarnations were Lego style, and animal-style from a previous Treehouse of Horror segment based on the Island of Dr. Moreau.

EDIT: Yikes, sorry Cel!

That's the risk you take when you edit a post. Sometimes you look like you're stealing from the post(s) after yours, when in fact it was just a matter of timing.

I didn't notice the Moreau Simpsons, not with the Minion Simpsons in front of them.

Meanwhile, in Spain Dorne…

http://winteriscoming.net/2014/10/20/morning-videos-osuna/

Jaime Lannister and Ellaria Sand, plus first looks at Doran Martell and Areo Hotah.

Of course, readers know how this diverges from the books…

Spoiler: show
At this point in the books, Jaime is supposed to be busy in the Riverlands, mopping up Tully loyalists and dealing with the still-at-large Blackfish. He never goes anywhere near Dorne. But in the show, apparently he and Bronn together go south to check on Princess Myrcella. This new storyline might be replacing the conspiracy storyline with Ser Arys Oakheart (i.e., Myrcella's Kingsguard escort) and Arianne Martell. Consolidation of characters, and whatnot.

In the middle of some other context, someone mentioned Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D to me, which I totally had forgotten still existed. So I caught up on the currently running S2, and it's pretty okay. They've tightened up the storyboarding or something, so it doesn't seem to have so many of those ploddy moments. The cast has ballooned a bit, but Adrianne Palicki's statuesque awesomeness and what seems to be an increased role for Ruth Negga are inclusions I enjoy. And I suppose Henry Simmons fits the bill for people wanting some guy-candy, although I find him to be more suited for something the level of WB. Chloe "Skye" Bennet looks different. She's seemingly aged five years over the summer hiatus. In some scenes she looks to have caught up with Ming-Na Wen who's literally over twice her age (albeit in amazing shape for a 50 year old). And they still insist on keeping Skye as the bland "front girl." Whatever her backstory turns out to be, I guarantee I will not care about it. Doesn't help that Melinda May's military-gal role is also so wooden. Whedon seems to enjoy writing that type of reserved-angry low acting-ability role more than I enjoy watching the performance. And a couple of people have really gone past their sell-by date (Fitz, Ward). I hope they're just keeping them around for the emotional kill off event, whenever that turns out to be.

But criticisms aside, they've amped up the action, the CG effects and the storyline and Coulson's getting a lot more action than he was last season. Overall it's a good looking show that provides a nice backdrop to the Marvel universe. Also did I mention Ruth Negga. I lurve her.

^ I'm watching on Hulu, so I'm two episodes behind. I liked the first four, though. The pacing is, as you said, much better; they were already doing filler episodes by this point in the last season. And the Whedon-esque build-up of the season's Big Bad is in full swing.

Skye looks different simply because of her hair. Apparently she gets her fashion tips from Taylor Swift. I hope they fix it.

(maybe it's just because it's fresh in my mind, but I get a Gurren Lagaan vibe as well. and I'm sure some of you know what I mean.)

The full — albeit short — film…

I like it. :thumbs-up:

Heck, I'd watch an entire series set in this universe. We get so little real science fiction (outside of certain authors, of course). Most of it is just a sci-fi veneer on generic but commercially viable action-thrillers.

Spoiler: show
I question the premise, however. There are many competing theories about the origin of water on Earth. It's very misleading to emphasize comets like this as if "the science is settled". I get that the film is essentially just PR for the mission, so comets would be emphasized regardless, but it would require only a small change in the script to be more honest about the current research.
