That argument would have prevented Fujimoto Miki from joining.

I prefer Kikkawa over Mano because Mano joining would hurt her movie career and prevent her from being the launching pad for the kenshuusei. Also, Mano was already once in a large group. Kikka was in Milky Way (three people) and I want to plant a Tree (five person one shot that no one has heard of) so Kikka was never in a high profile large group. Kikka being in MM would skyrocket her popularity. And, at 20, she would be a needed voice of authority since the group is being led by a "yankii" and a "narcissist".

I don't think it would happen, but if it did I think it would help both Kikka and MM.

I think both Sayu and Reina will leave soon-ish, and Morning Musume will consist only of younger girls. They're more in line with Fairies and Tokyo Girls' Style now in having only young girls without huge gaps. So I don't see either Kikka or Mano Morning Musume.

I see Reina leaving next year to do her live band full time. Sayumi will probably stay for another two years.

I don't see Kikka or Mano in MM, but, with potential graduations on the horizon, (and let's not forget that Reina or Sayumi could suddenly get Friday-ed out of the blue), having a back up experienced girl would help. Most of the MM girls wouldn't be able to do TV that recorded later than 10PM for another couple of years.

dont worry that is unlikely, since both Sayu and Reina are more careerist like Rika, but all the same stuff could happen, accidents or illnesses in which case I think its more likely they bring Gaki back than add Mano or someone else.

I'm not saying it will happen or should happen, but, look at the last time MM was lead by two veterans over a bunch of newbies: Kaori/Mari & Yossi/Miki ... (Yes, I know that Mari and Miki both got Friday-ed shortly after they became leader, but the seeds were being sown earlier.)
