and Reina wanted her gen to lead altogether, the 3 of them. But she hasnt got her wish so far and if they dont graduate together its more likely Reina will graduate first. But ideally i think those two would like to graduate together.

Nakazawa graduated Morning Musume when she was 28 iirc, i'm still hoping against hope that Sayu would break that record
If anyone could pull that off these days it'll be Sayu (in character with her narcissistic tv persona too )... and by then Fukuhime or anyone else could handle being leader with more than 5years of experience in the group.

I'm aware that changes and growth are kind of the theme for MM, but that doesn't mean we can't have a period of stability and prosperity with the current line-up for another 1-2years. I just hope the upper level guys in UF thinks so too instead of pointlessly trying to fill up some arbitrary quota of graduations/auditions every year

i absolutely don't think they're trying to fill up a "quota" of graduations, more like the members have reached the point in their Momusu careers where they've done everything they wanted to do and it's time to pass it on to the new generation. 1-2 years of stability is definitely possible but only because it's very likely that the next graduation won't happen until the next fall concert, so that's 1 year from now right there.

and Yuuko was 28 when she graduated only because she was already past what we now consider "graduation" age when the group was formed. it was a very different circumstance, the group was different back then, and the way the group works now i don't think that will ever happen again.

I latched onto Riho as soon as she joined. I didn't think I would oshihen any time soon, but then Ayumi came along.

I think that whatever happens, we won't see all that much stability. Pop music runs on novelty for the most part -- if an act doesn't manage to keep itself fresh and new in the public's eyes, it either goes to the oldies circuit, or it renews itself.

Stability's for heavy metal bands, and that's only because the audience is so drugged-out that they don't remember that they've been hearing the same songs for the past 25 years...

The members personal aspirations or wishes is of course also a factor in graduations, it's just that i can't never buy into the logic of thinking "Hey it's been a year without anyone leaving!! *insert oldest/most unappreciated member name here * must be graduating soon despite lack of evidence/evidence to the contrary from the girls/management ".
It's inevitable sure and for the most part i think it's a good thing too, just doesn't seem right somehow to frame it in a yearly cycle
