Hello! Ryuugaku Channel ~Study Abroad~

2024 July 29

[NZ Working Holiday] I planned on answering questions this time but didn't answer questions at all
Hello, it’s Saki ;)
Here is another ‘radio video’ that has arrived! Hope you enjoy it!

By radio video she means more or less an unedited stream-of-consciousness video. She actually does respond to quite a few questions. For example, someone asked what's different with NZ hospitals and drug stores compared to Japan. She says she'd never been to the hospital in New Zealand so she doesn't know, but when she burned her hand in Hawaii and had to go to the hospital, she was shocked when she got on the scale and the number was so high, because it was in pounds instead of kilos. She was asked the difference between NZ and Japanese winter. She said that where she's staying, it's pretty warm (it's winter now in NZ) and she can dress with short-sleeved shirts. (But later in the video she mentions that it's so cold in the mornings that she has to defrost her car, so maybe I'm missing something here.) Also she says she'll be going to visit the South Island later on and expects it to be quite a bit colder. She mentions that C-ute's June 11 anniversary date recently passed and some LINE conversations took place. Someone asks if she's been maintaining her nails in NZ, and she said she hasn't because she works in a cafe now and thinks long nails might interfere. She was bedridden the week before and barely moved around at all. Things she does to relax: Running, bath candles and salts, listening to healing music, baking and eating cookies. There's a lot more, as usual Nakky talks quite a bit.

[NZ Working Holiday] Are these cultural differences? What do y'all think?
Hello, It's Saki here ;)
Today, I was thinking about the things that surprised me when I first came to New Zealand!
I’ll share more when I think of more

(Didn't really get a chance to listen to this yet, but basically Saki has encountered some things in NZ that were surprising to her from a cultural perspective. But because she spent most of her life in Japan in the entertainment industry, she never really had a normal cultural experience growing up. So now she's unsure if the differences she's experiencing are genuine culture shock, or more because she just is living a much different lifestyle than what she had in Japan.)

Konkon has given birth to a healthy baby girl. Congratulations! It seems like it was quite eventful, with the baby being the wrong side up and whatnot. But it all worked out in the end.

Also a passel of promotional Shorts.

I really like what Kishimon's been putting out recently! It's not usually the kind of music I'd listen to but I'll give anything Kishimon releases a try.

The make-up talk was interesting
new vocab: まつエク = eyelash extension

Before she was saying that her knee was filling with fluid, but she kept running. I hope she finds a better way to keep in shape than running.

She mentions how the home she's in has 3 other foreigners living there. Wow, hopefully it's peaceful enough.

She made a post declaring that she had finally eaten natto in NZ ... while her host parents were away for a while

Airi posted some pics from a British pub a while ago, and then later she posted some random pics of Europe. I guess she's there to follow the Olympics, with her soccer-senshuu boyfriend involved.

Spoiler: show

Bonus: (not sure which is which though)

Airi went solo to Europe for work awhile back--nothing to do with the Olympics or her beau. She did Rock In Japan Fest like 3 days ago.

Riiight ...that's ringing a bell now, RiJ. I'm unsure of the timeline - of both Olympic events and Airiin's escapades, but I think there could have been a crossover. She's quite the jetsetter these days
