I think she just means it's the first time being on grocery duty for this household. I'm sure she's wandered around a grocery store a bit before. I think for the most part she doesn't have to buy groceries while doing the homestay thing, it makes it easier for them, while providing that immersion factor that living in a dorm wouldn't. And dorms are probably for younger folks anyhow.

Here are Nacky and Chii going shopping together. I'm not sure if it was this one that tipped me off to their living in Rotura. There was a shop sign in the window in the distance that wasn't blurred out.

Wow, I've never seen a place that has free snacks for kids before! Not a terrible idea, really. If memory serves, children in Japan behave well in public compared to the West, and you don't get people having loud conversations on the cell phone all over the place. I'm thinking Rotorua must be a tranquil place compared to much of the West.

Yeah that free fruit thing is a thing that Countdown does. They claim they give away 50,000 pieces of fruit a week to those little kiwi escuincles :flowers:

If I remember correctly, Woolworths in Australia used to do a similar thing. Giving apples or something to kids, or something.
Woolworths and Countdown are basically the same store/chain.

It's a pretty common thing at slightly upscale grocery stores and co-ops. Sometimes the fruit is out like in Saki's video, sometimes you have to sign up for a card, sometimes you have to ask a produce clerk.
But spoilage is so high in the produce department anyway that giving away a bucket of fruit to kids per day doesn't constitute much of a loss to the store compared to the good will it generates. :)

If there are no big financial backers behind it, it won't really go anywhere.

Ogata Haruna says her idol project audition will be broadcast on a TV program. Details to TBA later.

I wonder what person(s) she has dirt on? That's the only explanation.

Iikubo Haruna at the famous LACMA, wearing a Denim Jacket with Lakers logo embroidered, that she bought at a thrift store in Melrose Ave.

I could see her becoming an L.A. girl, just like Nonaka.
