it was announced today that Angerme and Dempagumi.inc are both appointed the ambassadors of the first ever Nationwide Anime Idol song cover contest "Ai odori-sai ~Aidoru Matsuri~" (愛踊祭～あいどるまつり～). They are accepting applications (details on the site) for performers who sing and dance cover to Anime songs. The final tournament will be at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL on 9/22. Angerme and Dempagumi are scheduled to appear. The contest's progress will be broadcasted on TV Asahi show "Music-ru" and it will take a half a year.

Music-ru announced that Angerme will be performing an anime song at Budokan on 5/26 for the first time called "Mahoutsukai Sally" (Angerme version) 「魔法使いサリー」アンジュルム ver. from the anime Mahoutsukai Sally / Sally, the Witch. The song is actually a requirement for the idol anime song cover Ai odori-sai ~Aidoru Matsuri~ contest in order to qualify to the next round. Angerme performing this song will serve as a model for those participating in the contest.

When I first saw this, I thought it was "maho" like, well, "Maho." xD
I wonder if they can base part of this around her name. (even though they are two unrelated things...)

I mean, it could be a pun, but the "hou" sound is different to "ho" -- it may not seem like much of a difference but it is . It's probably unintentional, but there's a chance it's Maho-centred and they knew what they were doing, lol.

It's 魔法 (mahou) vs 茉穂 (Maho), for those curious about the kanji.

EDIT: Seems like they've also performed a new song "臥薪嘗胆" (Gashin Shoutan?), which seems like a kanji idiom about going through hardships to attain your goal. Might be the main a-side?

another new song was preformed at Budokan called gashinshoutan 臥薪嘗胆 (determination), a dancing, jazzy song that has a Taiki Bansei feel to it. its got that Takui feel.
