It's interesting that they ARE all getting it now though as - judging from Reina's DVD - she never really got it at all since her debut. Now we all know they do warming up exercises before concerts but I wonder if that was all they did for... a while. Until 9th and 10th joined?

I think it might be because they regained popularity, and feel the pressure from other idol groups, the management maybe knows this is their momentum, their time to shine, so they are finally putting in the efforts.

I think everyone of them get vocal trainings early on their career in MM though... maybe during platinum era they just felt it wasn't necessary anymore?
They had Aichan and Reina, Gaki and the rest are reliable enough when they bothered to give them lines. I still don't have any problem with platinum's line distribution, mind you, as long as I enjoyed the song

Reina's recent voice training has more to do with her needing to change her singing style a bit for her band, I guess.

All in all, this can only be good for MM so I'm just excited for them.

I don't think she has started vocal training yet, as she didn't make it seem that way by the way she spoke in the DVD. But Uta no Rakuen surely did wonders for her. Aside from that though, as she's someone who constantly goes to karaoke it makes sense that she's improved a lot, too.

She said she realized she needed more vocal training when she did a song by someone I don't remember who, and her throat was really tired afterwards. She also pointed out that while in H!P she's one of the better/best, compared to other artists she's got a long way to go.
I loved that. And this is one thing I really like about her, her ability to look at her objectively like that and that she's not afraid, but rather likes to say it out loud.

This channel has videos of her training in 2005, I think i remember others(on bijo gaku I think?) but can't find it atm.
They might not be given official vocal training as routine/frequent as some of us or the girls themselves would like but they're by no means neglected. They could always train by themselves in private for starters...

@Sohee owh i see. I... can't stand watching grad memorial dvd (still haven't finished Eri's, Ai's or gaki's ) so it's unlikely i'll watch this one. Thx for explaining

Takahashi: Also, there was a period when we weren't getting much exposure which was tough. During that period of not getting exposure, we did lessons together to get everyone's ability up

Takahashi: Yes. Everyone had to do it or it wouldn't work. It was important to the system that we focus together. Everyone needed to look cool to get to where we were going. That's why we needed to focus together and put our heads together. Like if someone suggested, "Shouldn't that part be like this?", we could decide together, "Okay, let's change it". It was important that we were all going in the same direction.

So if current era wants to continue those strong performing image, won't be surprise if everyone are getting training in vocal or even dances. Just look at how Haruna improve in her dance and vocal. Hardworks + training

Kudo, Zukki and Masaki (and probably Sakura too) said they had voice training today. i guess since its Spring Break, they have time to do this.
