I decided, since I did this before for Berryz Kobo, to do the same for S/Mileage: go to their YouTube channel and go through their promotional videos and see how many I watch to the end and how many I give up on. The score with BK was something like 17-14. Here are the results for S/Mileage:

I feel like this has been posted here before, but I checked all of the pages of this thread and I didn't see it (there were a couple missing/private videos, so it could have been one of those). Off the top of my head, Yanagihara Hiromi and Kobayashi Azusa. Hiromi was an original Country Musume member, but died in a car accident a few days before the release of their first single, Futari no Hokkaido. Azusa left due to the tragedy, but Rinne soldiered on!
