Hello! Study Abroad Channel (13 Feb 2023)

Morito gets her hair done…

Hello!
This is Chisaki Morito.

Finally, finally!
I went to a hair salon overseas for the first time!

When I was in Hawaii, I didn't go to a hair salon because I thought it would be absolutely impossible with my English skills.
(Of course, there are places with Japanese staff!)

After three months in NZ, I decided to go to a hair salon, so I took the plunge and went!

It was quite hard, but it was a good experience! LOL!

On her Instagram, Tamura Meimi talked about her mental struggles.

Tamura Meimi (24), an actress and former member of the Hello! Project idol group ANGERME, updated her Instagram by the 15th. She revealed her current physical condition and state of mind, and thanked the public for their support.

"I had been feeling very well recently, but suddenly I felt a spasm, and I couldn't get on the train, and then I couldn't get on the next one, and then I tried to get on the next one, but then I got off the train because I couldn't. I felt sorry for myself and just started to cry. I don't know how long this suffering will last, but I am sure it will get better," she said, complaining of her mental health. She added, "This feeling that hit me one day is getting better every day, but I don't know when it will come. I don't think I will ever be able to walk on the ground again," she continued, "I walk on a beach where the tide is always low and it comes up to my knees, and the next thing I know it's below my waist, and I'm scared that it will cover my face at any moment. Still, the big wave that hit one day has completely calmed down."

The post received many encouraging and sympathetic comments, and Tamura wrote the following day, "I'm sorry for worrying you so much. And thank you. I couldn't stop crying because of everyone's kindness. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and it's not something I should go around telling everyone, but this is who I am now, so I wanted to be honest about it. I've been receiving proper maintenance and support from my office and family, so I'm usually able to enjoy my daily life and work very much. Sometimes, I get scared of trains and other things, and I also take a good night's rest. And above all, expressing myself is like the best therapy for me. So I never stop expressing myself, on stage or off," she said, explaining that her work keeps her looking forward.

"And there are many people who have the same problems and struggles, and words from them are very encouraging, and I hope I can support someone by doing my best and never stopping expressing myself."

Zuk-- I mean "TamagoEgg" uses her time off to go sightseeing…

It's my first time visiting railway spots.
I'm a beginner, so please be kind to me.
I want to visit various railway spots while relaxing and studying.

---

Apparently it's not about the trains themselves (like it is for Ichioka), but about the stations, crossings, rail yards, and surrounding neighborhoods. It is its own kind of sightseeing, in a rail-oriented culture.

Yeah, I can see the appeal.

And she's sooooo close to revealing herself…

Hello! Study Abroad Channel (20 Feb 2023)

Nakajima and Morito learn about Scotland (yes, that is a haggis in the thumbnail)…

Hello everyone, this is Saki Nakajima.

Today, I visited a party hosted by a neighbor.

Actually more conversations…
I want to record more, but…
I'm on YouTube! I'm so embarrassed that neither Chii-chan nor I can say that we're on YouTube.
We can't tell people around us. LOL!

I guess I'll just have to work on it.
This is [frustrating]. LOL

That's how it's going to be.
Burns Night in Scotland.
I learned by experience: [Scottish flag]

First time I heard bagpipes live! I was so impressed!

Between you and me, I always thought "Hotaru no Hikari" was a Japanese song.
(Specifically, the melody is the same…)
At the end of the song, "Hotarunomitsu" came on
And I mumbled to myself, "Why are they playing a graduation ceremony song?" LOL

[She wrote the next part in English.]

Hi, it's Saki here!

We visited a neighbor's house for Scotland's traditional Burns Night party.

I wanted to film the conversation, but I wasn't confident to say, "Can I film this talk for YouTube?" my English as wel

Anyway, we had a good experience of Scotland's culture.

I was impressed by the sound of the bagpipes for the first time in my life!

---

Burns Night is a traditional party to celebrate the birthday (January 25) of Scottish poet Robert Burns.
