BoA was arrested in South Korea for bringing legal psychotropic drugs prescribed in Japan into Korea. BoA's agency admitted the facts and explained that it was a mistake due to ignorance. The prosecutor's office plans to decide whether to prosecute the case after investigating whether it was intentional or not..

According to media reports and her agency, BoA recently received a prescription for sleeping pills in Korea, but experienced side effects. For this reason, an employee of the Japanese branch of her agency obtained the medication that BoA had previously taken in Japan and sent it to the Korean official, but it was discovered during the customs clearance process.

The Idolm@ster idol singer Hoshii Miki (voiced by Hasegawa Akiko) is releasing a character album on Feburary 10th, 2021. In the tracklist, she will be singing a cover of Juice=Juice's "Ijiwaru Shinai de Dakishimete yo" and gave credit to Tsunku.

Idolm@ster idol singer Kikuchi Makoto (voiced by Hirata Hiromi) also cover Fujimoto Miki's Romantic Ukare Mode recently

2020 has come and gone. Good riddance! But, even though it was an awful year, there was a lot of great* music that came out of it.

I was watching the Morning Musume x AKB48 - Shinshun Medley Gassen A!O download (the one with both MoMusu and AKB), when a few things hit me:

Even though I quit drinking decades ago and no longer have bad-trip psychedelic hangovers, and even when I don't go anywhere on NYE or get up early to do anything in the morning, I still manage to feel not-quite-on-Earth weird on New Year's Day.
During 1, 2, 3 (around the 6:18 point on the full TS version), Ayumi is sniffing her arm, and it comes across as more than a bit kinky.
My brain has suddenly decided to processs AKB48 as the Onyanko Club. This is the first time that's happened, even knowing about Akimoto's involvement with the Onyankos - when I saw them at Anime Expo, they seemed like a perfect small-theater cabaret act. But now they're the Onyankos.

It may be that the current AKB lineup is young, and looks rather Onyanko-ish - one of the front girls looked exactly like she should have been in Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi. In fact, comparing this clip to the AKB CDTV performance, Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi backed by the Onyankos really does seem like they could have been version 0.5 of the current AKB48 lineup:

The AKB-only cut from the CDTV special - everything after Heavy Rotation just seem to become more and more Onyanko:
