^^ In Jishin motte... the lyrics "Thank you til now...wo wo wo thank you tonight" are slurred together unintelligibly by Aichan in the original version. I always thought she was saying "Say 'til now...wo wo wo say tonight!" But the way Hoo-chan pronounces it, it sounds to me exactly like she's saying "Setsuna...wo wo wo setsunai" which happens to be Japanese for "Moment(s)...wo wo wo bittersweet melancholy..."

That doesn't exactly fit into the upbeat nature of the song but if you are just considering the lyrical content it doesn't seem totally out of place.

^ The dress in 1-2-3 is a beautiful shade of blue. Her routine is flawless of course. And, just in case she's trying to pull off a Chisaki and get transferred to MM., I do not approve!

Up Up Girls (2) have announced a new quadruple a-side single to be released on October 20, 2020. It's a collaboration with T-Palette Records and crowdfunding website WIZY; a project to promote releases and work around being unable to safely hold events normally.

Three of the songs have already been released with MVs on the Up Up Girls YT channel (tracks 1, 3, and 4). "Donomichi Happy!" is the first song to be composed by a member (Kaji), and "Ame ni Utaeba" (track 2) was released to the streaming site Eggs when the single was announced (I listened, so I guess it's available internationally).

Choreographer (and former member of GANG PARADE) Kamiya Saki created the choreo for "Ame ni Utaeba". It'll be performed for the first time during @JAM ONLINE FESTIVAL 2020.

In this serious press conference, they announced that Up Up Girls will have a crowdfunding for their Summer live and live stream performance at one of their favorite outdoor venues, Hibiya Yaon, on September 26th. Up Up Girls discussed the difficult situations that live idols are facing right now.

They also announced that the Hibiya live will be the last as 5 with the current system/lineup, details to follow after the live takes place. From what I gather they said the group won't disband but were vague otherwise in terms of additions/grads/some other unexpected change.

I don't think I'd mind new members, though it'd take some getting used to. Obviously I don't want graduations (but I'd understand).

Regardless of the success of this campaign, anyone else feeling iffy about idols turning to crowdfunding?
Especially for an at this point very established group (although 'technically' still indie) like UUG.

You could make an argument that idols have been crowdfunded by their very nature from before the concept even existed.
The whole point of idols is fans supporting them, that includes financially.
By buying goods, paying to be fanclub members, buying CD's, concert tickets,...
If all that doesn't pay to keep things running, I'd say you have a deeper problem.

Adding crowdfunding on top of traditional financial support feels like they are trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Either that or someone at Y-UM is creaming off a substantial amount from the top and putting it in their pocket.

I don't really feel any type of way about it, but at the very least I can't imagine concert/live tickets (especially for smaller groups) are paying for much of anything at the moment. I've always assumed a lot of events (cheki, handshake, etc) for indie groups relied on happening in conjunction with live shows? So if one is down, the other probably is too.

I could be wrong though, I don't pay nearly as much attention.
