I really liked them when they were only doing ABBA songs. (I discovered them when they were still called ABBA Teens, in fact.) Then they dropped the gimmick and I quickly lost interest.

Give her glasses and she'd look like a shorter version of A

Speaking of the Carpenters, I found another Japanese singer's version that, while she doesn't sound like she's deliberately trying to imitate Karen, I think her voice really has the same kind of sweet-melancholy spirit. Unfortunately it's audio only and NicoNico Douga so

"We've only just begun"

Her name is Maika Shiratori. She's the daughter of a more famous singer, Emiko Shiratori. Here are the two of them together harmonizing beautifully on another American song from that late 60's period...

I've been listening to Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" album all weekend. The entire thing is excellent,

E-girls' new PV Gomenasai no Kissing you

The song starts off weak with the singing, but this could be their break out single especially since it has a popular movie tie-in that they feature in.
They're MM's rival for Kouhaku right now especially since they seem to do well on Rechouku.

The PV is kinda over-the-top and feels overdone and its a lot to process with so much people. I loved the dance break though, Fuji Shuuka is so hot omg.
The chorus goes off.

Still, that was nice. If indie idols are a viable reality now (and I think they are), then the idol world is changing, and a lot of things may become possible.

Japan, so many cute people! Who suck at dancing!

This is basically the exact opposite of what MM has been doing. A line dance that is simple in execution, with a simple melody that's easy to sing along with. After Baby!Baby!Baby!, this is AKB's greatest work of genius, as far as I'm concerned.
