That's kind of the impression I've had. I had been wondering why that, of all of the stuff coming out of Korea (Kpop, K-dramas, which do have a major underground following in this country) would be the one thing that would suddenly become a fad in the U.S.

I think attitudes in this country are changing, but very, very slowly -- it's still much easier for most people to fall back on the reflexive habit of putting just about anything (other than kung-fu movies) from Asia which catches their attention in the "those crazy Asians" box. It's a way of mentally confining people, nations, cultures which, if you were to look at them closely, might turn out to be the kind of things that you really can't confine at all (and are therefore potentially threatening).

OK. I didn't even go back to the previous page to see what the original quote was about. It would just ruin the perfect ecchiness of this exchange. Some things are better left to the warped imagination. :mikihead:

^ I love that City Hunter song.

Btw, on "Gangnam Style", I notice that it's actually popular among Asians and Asian-Americans too (like as an actual song and not the equivalent of something funny they saw on YouTube).

I've only noticed it being popular with people that like...like...LMAFO or those people that made Asher Roth happen that one time.

It does seem to be up on jps in at least half a dozen releases, which I guess implies.... whatever it implies. XD

I'll be happy when I hear T-ara or SNSD playing on the store music system whenever I walk into a Rite-Aid or Target.
Really, really loud, so the store's crappy speakers get completely blown out, and the bass/kickdrum parts make it sound like somebody's pounding on a wet cardboard box really, really hard. :mikihead:

gangnam style's structure reminds me of party rock anthem a ton so that doesn't surprise me at all.

I don't like Gangnam Style as a song, but hey. PSY seems like a fun dude.
