It’s weird, I can’t enjoy their reactions without knowing they understand all of the references, or at least understand that they are references. Otherwise they’re just reacting to the seemingly random stuff the director told them to do. I can imagine the director showed them clips of what they were trying to reproduce, but I don't know that for sure and it's bugging me. For example, their ambiguous reaction to the "Take On Me" reference…

- All Tower Records stores will play BEYOOOOONDS's new album song "Kinoko Take no Ko Daisenki"
- Tower Records stores will play VTR comments from the members.
- BEYOOOOONDS will take over Tower Records starting on November 25th for one week.

Oh, they changed the spelling of the group's name. It was the katakana spelling for the single(s). <sigh>
