So, did the girls who were previously in idol groups make the featured singers?

I don't think it works like that. I know Backstage Pass includes a few street idols like Minami Momochi, but as for the small-but-established groups like Afilia Saga East, I don't think they're part of this.

As far as I can tell, the featured singers are the ones who have earned the most points at the café and therefore are the most popular with customers.

If members of other groups would be part of this they would be mentioned on the Japanese wikipedia page. Since there is no mention of any specific member we should conclude that it's just new girls.

Right. However, I was wondering if the ASE girls did well with getting producer points.

In a way they have collaborated a little bit already. Berryz and C-ute members have been guests on Tsuntube during the "audition" process. Still continues after Backstage Pass was officially opened. Morning Musume's Chokubo and Fuku-hime were guests too. Up-Up Girls were also invited as guests from time to time earlier on. I won't be surprised if they Backstage Pass girls gets invited on a H!P concert
