At least I assume by BOA they mean Beat of Angel and not "Bôa," the group with that one poignant, melancholy song from Serial Experiments: Lain. Wow that brings back such memories.

Y'all young'uns don't understand. You were happy to buy shitty overpriced jpop albums back then because that's all you could get. You held on to that Shiina Ringo CD for dear life. You got the overseas Suzuki Ami because it was half the price and you couldn't read the characters regardless. That how we rolled back then.

Going back 10-12 years ago, there were J-Pop albums I bought just because there wasn't a lot selection in stores to begin with. I'm glad it was not impossible to find J-Pop CDs in stores in Thailand, but you also kind of had to know where to look.

But gosh, back in middle school the cost of a CD was such a huge part of my allowance.

And have I ever told you guys about how I used my mom's credit card to order J-Pop CDs online without telling her and got in trouble for it? Yeah, that happened.

In the L.A. area, I have access to cheap used/cut-out Jpop and Cpop CDs, but that just means that I wind up buying stacks of CDs for a few dollars each just because they look interesting -- some of them turn out to be quite good, some are just whatever, and some are serious wtf.
