Lol we went through this already didn't we? It's Japanese...specifically the Japanese pronunciation of spangle, literally supankooru (or alternatively supanguru). They creatively roumaji-ed it as "Spancall" both to call to mind the Japanese pronunciation of spangle (supankooru) but also as a play on the words "span" and "call." See Amped's comment where he translates the Ameba announcement. But randomly your comment made me think of that old Travis song where they say, more or less, "And what's a wonderwall spancall anyway?" :P

In this production, unsuccessful idols from the 1980s travel back in time to the year 2024 and use various modern tools to climb the ladder to super idol status.
Please take note of the costumes, hair and makeup that incorporate the feeling of each era.
In addition, the original song written for the show is scheduled to be cut as a single based on the votes of the audience.

And this production will feature Emao Yu, former top star of the Takarazuka Revue's snow troupe, as a guest actor to enliven the story with famous songs from the 80s.

In addition, a special performance on June 16 (Sun.) will feature a special live performance for that day only.
There will also be a showcase after the main performance, so please enjoy the showcase as well.

Story
Motomiya Rinka, an idol of the 1980s.
She has been hiding in the shadows of super idols such as Matsuda Seiko and Nakamori Akina, and has not been very successful.
One day, however, she time travels to the year 2024.
It's just like in the TV dramas and manga!
Rinka accepts the situation positively and easily, and changes her name to Karin,
Using various modern tools, she rises up the ladder to become a super idol...
