Chiichan goes to Banff 10/9 2023

Spoiler: show
Banff - the Place I Most Wanted to Go in Canada! ~ The Most Beautiful Lake I've Ever Seen ~

(spoken intro)
Howdy~~
It's Morito Chisaki ~
Lately I haven't been filming (missing)
(text:) Sorry, it's a bit disorganized (crouching bow) WW
Before, I was traveling. Again - again? - yeah, it was real traveling lately.
But this latest video was not about the process of my travel - which I was worried about. However, whatever the case, I'd like to show you the scenery that I saw with some footage I took. I'm shooting this before putting it together (editing). But I'm sort of thinking ... that it might not be good enough, so I'm talking to you.

I went to this place in Canada called Banff. "Why Banff" you may ask, although I'm sure many have heard of it. When I first came to Canada a friend around me said (missing) (everybody goes to Banff). And when I looked at that person's photographs... it was crazy... maybe the most impressive thing I've ever seen. Even though it's a very standard spot where everyone goes (it's not a secret), just looking ... even now I look at the scenery and think how shockingly gorgeous it is. I thought "I have to go here!". I made up my mind to for sure go there. I'm incredibly glad to have been able to.

The weather was a bit ... well, you'll understand once you see (lol), in a bit. It was really pretty though. (missing)
I went for 3 days and 2 nights. We didn't do the tour. A tour probably would have been fine, but we went to Calgary on the first day, then took a car ride for about 2 hours to Banff, spending a day there. We spent one night at a place between Calgary and Banff. And then on the final day - the flight was late in the evening - we looked around Calgary a bit, and then went home, kind of thing.

I think that for seeing the area around Banff one day is enough. It really worked out well. I had these places that I had decided on beforehand... and my friends were amazing and came along as well. It was a cooperative kind of thing with these wonderful people. I couldn't have asked for more.

This little guy, you know, I bought him (a white bear with a Canada hat and shirt). I thought I'd take him on my travels. This little guy imparts great confidence. Yes, that's right. It was a really fun trip... by all means, try your best, and watch my video. Well, please enjoy~

===travel video===

Going to Banff (teddy bear)
Leaving the hotel at 5:30
about 2 hours drive
Arrival in Banff!
The sunrise was very pretty
except there were too many clouds
Breakfast time (with bear)
Heading towards Louise Lake (あ)
Here is a place I've been wanting to go for a lo~ng time: Louise Lake
Isn't it breathtaking?
It rained quite hard, but even so, this is how beautiful it was.
We got here at 8:30, but it was only a 2 hour journey W
After 10 minutes of hiking up the mountain we were able to see this! (3:44)
It was mega pretty, , , (か)
It takes less than 30 minutes to get to the shuttle bus from Louise Lake.

4:00
This is Moraine Lake
too beautiful...
From above it looks like this
Astonishingly, the colour looks different depending on which angle you view it from.
I wanted to see even more, until it started raining and we gave up. W
Heading towards downtown~
Arrival~! (Canuck Bear - lol)
We eat lunch (BLT & fries by the looks of it)
The weather finally cleared up a bit (sun)
We saw a rainbow (rainbow)
Lately traveling has entailed experiencing rain and rainbows W
Finally we get to really see mountains, you know~
It's probably still the Canadian Rockies(?)
Driving through this scenery was awesome
I wasn't driving, though W
The last day was Calgary
This is downtown (4:56, with bear)
Yup, downtown!
We went to a cafe (bear with a tall drink)
Walking at the park
It's the season for autumn colours, so it was pretty out
It was like this for a brief moment and then we had to go home.
Lastly, we had ice cream.
Going home! (bear in seatbelt snugged up to chest)
Thank you for watching! (hearts)

あ: I have only heard the lake referred to as "Lake Louise" before, not "Louise Lake". A brief search online corroborates my opinion... but Morito gonna Morito.

か: Some other things in this video were also mega pretty.

Her speaking seems very scattered to me. If the translation reads funny it's not just my fault! :smiling:

Where else will she go before the ride ends in December? Is Rihoriho still in NYC?

on October 11th, Fukumura Mizuki, Michishige Sayumi, Ishikawa Rika, and Kamei Eri (not pictured) threw a surprise for Takahashi Ai's 37th Birthday (Sept 14th). They all had dinner together, and celebrated with a cake. They had a lot of fun playing tag with the Ishikawa's children.

Kamei Eri is Fukumura Mizuki's admire senior. Wish we could see that interaction.

Riho is back in Japan, doing her 3rd tour. To the best of my knowledge she's also still doing those KNH-English segments and recently starred in several doramas.

Part of it could be that "lake" consistently follows the name in Japanese: Lake Biwa is Biwa-ko, etc.

The fact that the other lake that she mentions is called "Moraine Lake" rather than "Lake Moraine" probably added to her confusion, too.

Good points. I just mean that if she Googled her destinations, looked them up on Wikipedia or whatever it should have been clear what the name was. Also, a few weeks ago she called Vancouver Island "Victoria Island" :D So, learning geography may not be her strong suit. I tried to figure out why it's called "Lake Louise" (in that order) but failed. Anyone know?

I can't believe she's scheduled to fly back to Japan for Fukuchan's grad! :o

Thinking about it, I did know that Riho was back in Japan, I've seen some of her videos. Somehow I thought she could do performances and be living abroad at the same time, but that doesn't make sense. Her English skills are impressive :thumbs-up:
