Huh, the venue is at Times Square.
Hmm…

So, they'll be even farther away from me then they usually are!
But seriously, it's great to have one last overseas gig for Sayu before her grad.
So, this NY thing isn't linked to any con (like anime or whatever) or event is it? It's just it's own event?

Can we have a meetup? I'd love to show you guys around, especially those of you who've never been to the city!

... but, that's my birthday weekend.
Yeah, so I'm probably going to this.

Yep. It's a proper concert and not an event performance or whatever.

Well, a proper concert would have proper seating for folks who don't want to stand in a crowd for two hours…

Sweet.
Would this be the first time for a H!P group/artist to do a standalone overseas concert/event?
Also, does this event venue not have seating, or am I misunderstanding it? I don't really know anything about anything on Broadway.

Man I am already so excited >_< flight+hotel from AZ is not to terrible atm so I have to save quickly. I wish there were more details on the VIP. Maybe it would be like anime expo, little table and you meet each girl and they sign whatever it is you have to sign.

So at the moment I am still deciding whether I am going to try and go to Japan for the concert tour or if I am just going to go to NY for a weekend, but... I feel like maybe the venue will be too small? At AX they had maybe ~7,000 people at the concert, but that could have been because it was at a con and since it's a Jpop concert people are going to check it out regardless of if they're big fans. And standing room only? I know that beggars can't be choosers and I should be happy they're coming, but it's going to suck waiting in line for however many hours just to get inside to unassigned seating and standing around some more.
But I did something similar at AX and I would do it again a thousand times over
I get the feeling they're being conservative in the venue they're booking because they aren't sure just how much interest there will be. I hope we blow them away!!

Both Bouno and C-ute Paris concerts were standalone in venues not connected to the Japan Expo even though they had other events at the Expo venue on other days around it.
I'm really pleased the US got something again as it was starting to look like Europe/SE Asia were getting the monopoly on H!P events. New York makes sense as there's the slight Yankees connection right now, maybe Country Musume will also be up a running again by then? Fingers crossed it's a good turnout and causes a bit of US media interest.
